I have a question about the next step:

Do I have to send any papers to NVC, from Norway? Or does my fiance in the states just sent everything from a copy of the papers he sent in, to aos ets, to me, and I take it from there?

No, the USCIS will send your entire I-129F packet to the NVC, who will then forward it on to the Embassy/Consulate that will handle your interview. The Embassy will then send you the Packet 3 checklist and forms or if they're going greener, a link to the forms where you can fill them out. You can probably find all of the packet 3 forms on your embassy's website and get a jumpstart on filling them out.

Make sure your fiance in the US sends you the signed ORIGINAL I-134 Affidavit of Support and ALL accompanying documents (Birth certificate, copy of passport information page, tax returns & W-2's, employer letter, pay stubs, etc.) Make sure you've got photos, boarding passes, etc. to prove an ongoing relationship. Make sure you've got your shots all up to date and check out the vaccination requirements prior to coming over so you can get those knocked out prior to your medical exam.

Congratulations again, and good luck!!!

Tax returns & W-2's and pay stubs? How come? I'm a bit confused. Aren't just those anual forms requiered? Those you can get online? What do you actually need for the I-134?

Yes, for the I-134 you need the sponsor's tax return, along with W-2's, a letter from their employer stating that they are gainfully employed as a regular employee (not temp) and in good standing, and how much they earn per year, along with several recent pay stubs to show they make a regular wage.

If the sponsor is a co-sponsor, not the fiance, you'll also need proof of citizenship (birth certificate or copy of info page from their passport).

Thank you for your reply, Dodi!

You're right, I've read more about the I-134 for the K1 Interview these days. I've also talked to my fiance and he told me he preserves his pay stubs.

This is what we will have for the Affidavit of Support, the sponsor is my fiance:

- I-134, of course

- his bank statement

- income tax return along with W-2s

- recent pay stubs

- letter from his employer(I already have a sample from him and it's nice and all, it has the company logo, it says how much he makes anually, how long since he's been employed there, if it's with good perspective, his position and that he's a full-time employee. I think this should be ok, right?)

And, oh, another question about the income tax return and W-2s. Right now he has the 1040 for the past 2 years and the W-2s for the past 3 or 4 years. So, two 1040 go together with two W-2s and there are two more W-2s. It's ok to bring those with us at the interview?

Anyway, by the time we will be scheduled for the interview, which I'm sure it will be this winter(depending on when we file our petition. He's becoming a USC this July, so that's why we haven't sent the petition already.), he'll have the income tax return for this year, so it will be like: 1040 & W-2s for the past 3 years. This should be more than enough.

Thank you for your patience!
