Prior diversity visa lottery entries

Hello! I've raised this question in MENA, but I thought I'd open it up for responses in other areas of the world. For those of you whose SO's come from diversity lottery eligible countries, has your SO ever entered before? If so, did you disclose it prior to your SO's interview? Was your SO questioned about the DV lottery? Do you think it impacted your petition at all?

Also, if you do have experience with this topic, I'd be interested in knowing how the DV lottery is seen in your SO's country....if it's the type of thing like "everybody's doing it" or if you think it demonstrates a particularly strong desire to make it to the US.....as that would likely affect how the CO's of that country view it as well.

Thanks much!

People from eligible countries can certainly enter the lottery but if they don't win it, there's no reason to disclose it as it's not an immigration petition. In the DS-160 it asks has anyone ever submitted an IMMIGRANT PETITION on your behalf? Entering a DV lottery submission IS NOT that. Only if you won the lottery and didn't follow through would you answer yes to that question.

Thanks for the response! I knew it wasn't required, but I was wondering if it would be worth it to front load in the K-1 process.

Not a K-1 visa general discussion topic

moving thread

By the way, why was this moved out of the K-1 forum? I was hoping to get the insight from other K-1 filers about how they treated prior diversity lottery entries in their K-1 paperwork and whether or not it came up in their K-1 interviews.
