Hi, couple questions. First of all, my wife never received a social security number. I had always read that was pretty common. What exactly do we need to do to get her one now that it has been about 3 months?

We are also moving, I remember reading that I needed to inform them when I would move (assume for both of us as well), what forms were those?

If you are talking about telling SSA that you moved, no reason to tell SSA that you have moved just for the purpose if telling them that you have moved. Once you have moved she needs to go into an SSA office to find out what happened to the Enumeration At Entry request. If an application is pending and they can correct why it didn't process fully, she can be assigned an SSN and issued a card without an application being submitted. That would be the time to make sure SSA has your current address. If no application is pending she will need to submit an application. If by chance she was assigned an SSN, but it has been over 14 days since the card was issued and you didn't receive it, she will need to apply for a replacement card.

Have her take her passport, Form I-551 (green card) and birth certificate (if one is handy) when going into the SSA office.

hi! when I applied for my SSN, it took some time for it to come in the mail, call ur local SSA office and the copy they gave u when u 1st applied for it, has some sort of number on it. I remember I called our local SSA to ask why mine took forever, and he asked me for my information, looked it up in the system and the person from the office was able to let me know that my SSN card had just been printed out and was on its way through the mail. :)

I hope this helps!

Calling your local SSA office though could be tricky coz they're so busy or just wouldn't pick up the phone.. Make sure to call that office where you applied for not the 1-800 number.. Anyway that's what I did to get some answers from them :)
