They are all pretty much the same. SIF= sign in failed, LIF = log in failed. Both of these refer to the message received when one tries to sign into the NVC payment portal and the case has finally been closed by NVC (the cc = case closed). This means that NVC has received and reviewed all your documents and will be sending your package to the appropriate consulate after they schedule your interview. SIF/CC/LIF are WONDERFUL messages!

How the HECK did I miss this? I actually went to your profile so that I can see if there was an update and there was! Congrats Ally! I'm sure you are WAYYYY prepared.

Thanks so much!

I am working on more paperwork now before I leave for work. I think we will be over-prepared, but after that K1 experience last year... we aren't taking any chances!

Of course that CO last year didn't even look at anything he took in, just decided I was too old for him.

But I have stacks of pics and all our chat logs from almost 2 years, phone bills, ticket stubs, trip receipts, etc. And I will make them look at all of it if I have to!

The mail room is evidently a large cavern several miles below the data input room, and the drudge that has to carry each individual package up there - one at a time - (walking - uphill - thru the snow - without shoes) takes about 7 to 10 days to get there. (That doesn't mean your paperwork is not being reviewed, by the way.)

Fixed.

No seriously. Thank you for explaining the "sowing and recieved" thing.

Just wait till I come back in a week throwing a fit because it's still not updated.

Alles wird gut und wenn es noch nicht gut ist, ist es noch nicht vorbei.

That's right Ally! I'll be keeping you two in my thoughts and prayers. You'll be fine this time around.

I think the worst part of this... besides the waiting... is having one person hold your future in his or her hands at the interview. I just wonder if we will be interviewed by the same woman. I am pretty sure if its a 2nd interview for the same visa, you have it with the same CO, but since we withdrew the K1 and filed CR1, I am really not sure.

Waiter. You are about right. The main reason was I couldn´t gather enough evidence to prove residency time.

You will get your case number this week and I hope so do I. As son as I call and get an answer from NVC I´ll let you know.

totosan any update from you???? NVC case number???

for me they have not received it and i really doubt it that its gonna be anytime soon for me. my immigration luck has been very bad from the start from getting my green card till now, i expect the worst.

Thanks!

LIF = Log in Failed / SIF = Sign in Failed. Both mean the same thing. It means when you try to access the payment portal, you are no longer allowed to sign in which usually means that your case complete(CC) Hope that helped. Goodluck :star:

Grats and welcome! When you call the NVC number (which you will have memorized by the time this is done!), follow the prompts and press #5 to speak to an operator. Best time to call is early in the morning, or late at night. I always called before 8 am Eastern time.
