At the risk of sounding too judgmental or harsh I just have to say that hating the president because of the Presidential Initiative is ridiculous. This initiative is a good thing because I know a lot of people that have been waiting a very long time to be with their loved ones. I miss my husband everyday, every minute and every second of the day and I wish he was here right now, but other people has it worse than me and you in terms of the waiting. Also, I am sure if the NVC had space--and I'm speculating here--and probably the budget they would hire more workers.

With that said, perhaps you and your husband are just venting out of frustration, which we all need to do sometimes. I just think hating the President is not going to make the frustration go away.

Finally, I wish you well and I hope you get your SIF soon and then your interview date.

Good luck and try not to stress out too much about this process. You have reached a point in the process where there is really not much you can do to make it go faster, so all that is left to do is wait and wait some more and prepare your documents for the interview.

NVC:

02-25-2010 : Received NVC case number, but NVC is closed, so I can't give an operator our emails. :-(

02-27-2010 : Jumped the gun and emailed the VJ version of the DS 3032. Who knows what will happen :-)

03-01-2010 : Gave the operator both emails...waiting on DS3032 kit

03-02-2010 : Received DS3032 Kit; Resent DS3032 (just in case), Received AOS bill.

03-03-2010 : Paid AOS and IV bills; both are IN PROCESS

03-03-2010 : VJ email version of the DS3032 accepted (It was the one that was sent on 02-27-2010)

03-11-2010 : Both AOS + IV showed paid but processed on 03-05-2010 :-)

03-12-2010 : Mailed AOS packet. Waiting on my procrastinating hubby to send me his IV docs :-(

03-15-2010 : AOS signed for by St. Laurent at 10:03 a.m.

07-19-2010 : Received IV documents from hubby (Finally)

07-20-2010 : Mailed IV packet

07-21-2010 : IV Packet signed for by Peters at 10:15 a.m. (St. Laurent and Desmond are probably on vacation lol)

07-26-2010 : NVC starts processing IV Packet

08-20-2010 : Called NVC and was told that we received a "stupid" RFE on 08-18-2010

09-03-2010 : RFE sent to the NVC today....SIF please come quickly.

09-07-2010 : RFE signed for by Desmond at 10:16 a.m.

09-10-2010 : NVC acknowledges receipt of the RFE

09-30-2010 : SIF

10-01-2010 : Case complete as per NVC AVR

10-05-2010 : Interview date assigned for November 29, 2010 at 7:00 a.m. Approved

you guys r just awesome..thanks for all ur answers.. so i guess the thumb rule is to just go by whatever makes sense when some strict guideline is not mentioned.

Teya..yupe, got the PCCs all..didnt pay any bribe ..but then the last PCC has some date format error..month of year not mentioned..but just year at one place.. wonder if NVC is going to RFE it..lets see..

and guys,,didyu all print DS230 back to back.. or just on one side of the paper? i wud like to save paper and reduce the weight of the bundle if printing on both sides are okay... :P

i think everyone wastes paper and does one sided printing. until the gov has a secure way of submitting it all online, it's gonna be like that. =(

Hello, does anybody know if NVC accept DS-230 directly mailed from the beneficiary OR it must be from the US citizen? Thanks!

does not matter where it comes from, as long as it is SIGNED and dated by the beneficiary. (part 1 only!!)

I am now scrambling to make sure all copies get to my wife on time. I pray all of us make it through ASAP.

Hi msd .. how much longer do you anticipate to wait? I am behind you by about 3 weeks +/-. I wish you good luck.

Aw... I really don't know. I was hoping they finish our case in the second week of August, which would be week number 6. But I'm kind of thinking they won't. I've only heard from one person but they said that it really will take 8 weeks...

The only thing that makes me feel better is that I can't leave before mid-October anyway because I have finals. :bonk:

So if they schedule me for an October interview it'll be okay too.

Although...I really want this to be over sooner than later.

Alles wird gut und wenn es noch nicht gut ist, ist es noch nicht vorbei.

Did you guys write your NVC case number/stick a NVC case barcode label on the originals you sent in (ie. birth certificates, marriage licenses)? Any advice on ways to sucessfully convey your case # on those documents without ruining them (should they actually be returned to us like we are requesting)?
