need a spotlight on question number 21a.. on ds 230. 21a. Person(s) named in 14 and 19 who will accompany you to the United States now.http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-DS-230.pdf

on question 19 i listed my daughter;s name. and she WILL be coming here with her mother/ my wife / applicant.

SO... do I list my daughter's name in Q.21a...? i am sonfused because she is US citizen by birth, so i didnt file any petition for her, BUT she will be coming here with the applicant. so to prove that she is US citizen...do I submit her us embassy issued bith certificate with my ds-230 package?? so NVC and us consulate will know that my daughter is us citizen and didnt need immigrant visa petition . OR doing this will make things complicated???

friends... whats ur take on this???

Thanks.

Folks, On DS230,

1. For question number 19 and 24 - where they ask for Father's and mother's middle names... do we leave it blank or write 'NONE' if they dont have a middle name? In the VJ Sample form , I see it is left blank, though instructions mostly say - dont leave any field blank.

2. Again, the item # 23 and #28, should we leave blank or write 'N/A' ?

3. Does it anywhere say we have to use black ink? I am a lil worried about black ink making it look like a photo-copy esp the signature part.

4. For current address of Father and Mother.. questions - 22 and 27, can I write, 'SAME AS ITEM # 13' (Item #13 is my present address and I live with my parents) If its not good to write so, I have to use an additional sheet because the address is big!

 and hey..two more questions, folks

5. didyu all staple the photos with DS230..? the stapler-pin marks on the photos are okay? I cud make a paper pouch and pin the pouch to the form if need be

6. Did someone write the case number on original docs with a removable sticker or something? Or do we just write the case number on the DS230 form and just the photocopies of docs?

If the address doesnt fit, you can hand write it in the form with a black pen all in capital letters.

Wherever you sign make sure you are signing with blue ink only.

I have asked this question before here.

the jesal, jinyandjony..

on the question of who will accompany the applicant now... i put in my kids, they are also US citizens. question #29 should establish that they are citizens and will show that they're with your wife. i didnt submit any info for my kids since only my wife is the beneficiary.

on the question of writing the case number, some suggested a felt tip pen should be used so it is easily read. i simply used a ballpoint pen.

on the question about pics, i put it in a very small ziplock then i paperclipped the bag to a regular sized copy/bond paper.

on the question about middle names, i would just leave that blank... i find it weird to have a first name then N/A for middle name.. but that's just me. wait for others to chime in on this one.

as for the address, if your address is too long.. then did you have to write it on an additional sheet in the first place? cause if so, then you can put your folks address on that sheet as well... what i did on ours was if the space for the address was only short by a few letters or so, i just wrote it by hand... dont know if this is right but so far we're progressing along... in fact i'll post my update and questions after this post...

hope this helps..

6. Did someone write the case number on original docs with a removable sticker or something? Or do we just write the case number on the DS230 form and just the photocopies of docs?

This is what I would do...

#1 - Instructions say to put N/A where not applicable so I would put N/A. This will leave no doubt.

#2 - This is basically the same question as # 1 Put N/A

#3 - I would use black ink regardless of what it said if I had a choice. If I had document that another color ink was used I would not worry about it. This ink color thing evolved years ago when copiers could not copy blue ink. Sometimes things die hard. :bonk:

#4 - Don't get lazy. :hehe: Follow the instructions and use an additional sheet.

#5 - I dont know the answer to this. Where does it say you attach photos to the DS 230?

#6 - I would put your case number on each page of all document. I think removable tape is a good idea for originals. Just make sure the tape will not damage your document if removed. Understand why we put case numbers on our documents. Its to ensure that if a page or sheet is misplaced they can be more easily be placed back with the package it was intended to be with.

Hope this helps. ALso remember there are no absolutes and some of these are subjective. Its what I would do...

Good Luck Triaxxx! Your paperwork being at the Embassy has to be good news in my view. I would have your wife asking questions when she picks up the package. As she will be going there anyway. Hopefully she is on Luzon. They may give her stuff for the physical she will need to get also. I really dont know... I know this what ever they did is done so now just sit back and enjoy the ride... :innocent::lol: Then again what do they say ... be careful what you ask for you might just get it...
