Congrats!!! Is that the normal amount of time it's taking for this? Looks like I will have to wait a little longer than I hoped for. As I was approved on 7/14 when do you think I should be calling for my NVC Number? I was thinking Monday 7/26.

Agreed with triaxxx and jujuswife, you may call NVC now as it won't hurt. I guess you may wait for 10-14 days before getting a case no. A few early July approved VJers waited for 2 weeks before having their case no. assigned.

TomD, it won't hurt to call once a day.... I'd call around 11pm and ask for the operator if the AVR doesn't give me any update. Sometimes the AVR/Payment Portal updates after 5pm or so... If I hadn't been persistent on my AOS issue, I would still be waiting for them to send me the AOS stuff. I spoke with at least 2-3 operators who didn't do sh--. Pls Excuse my language guys. Then last monday I spoke to another and she cared enough to teach me that I could send my AOS forms with the DS230 coversheet since there was probably a glitch in the system thats why my AOS wasn't showing as Paid. She was so nice that she even explained to me what else was going on with my file.

e.g. my request for expedite was sent to Manila and awaiting a response but it's already there

Triaxxx they told me something similar when i called about the pay portal in March. Apparently, you can create your own barcoded cover sheet using the barcode on the emailed DDS 3032 form. The operator said it wouldn't be a problem to send in my documents that way. However, at the time I wasn't in a rush because I knew I wouldn't be able to get in both the AOs and IV packet at the same time. SO I waited until the portal was working again.

However, if anyone is having issues with the portal and you know the money was taken out of your accoun then I say you should sent in your documents. Use the barcode from the DS 3032.

Mrs. Thomas

NVC:

02-25-2010 : Received NVC case number, but NVC is closed, so I can't give an operator our emails. :-(

02-27-2010 : Jumped the gun and emailed the VJ version of the DS 3032. Who knows what will happen :-)

03-01-2010 : Gave the operator both emails...waiting on DS3032 kit

03-02-2010 : Received DS3032 Kit; Resent DS3032 (just in case), Received AOS bill.

03-03-2010 : Paid AOS and IV bills; both are IN PROCESS

03-03-2010 : VJ email version of the DS3032 accepted (It was the one that was sent on 02-27-2010)

03-11-2010 : Both AOS + IV showed paid but processed on 03-05-2010 :-)

03-12-2010 : Mailed AOS packet. Waiting on my procrastinating hubby to send me his IV docs :-(

03-15-2010 : AOS signed for by St. Laurent at 10:03 a.m.

07-19-2010 : Received IV documents from hubby (Finally)

07-20-2010 : Mailed IV packet

07-21-2010 : IV Packet signed for by Peters at 10:15 a.m. (St. Laurent and Desmond are probably on vacation lol)

07-26-2010 : NVC starts processing IV Packet

08-20-2010 : Called NVC and was told that we received a "stupid" RFE on 08-18-2010

09-03-2010 : RFE sent to the NVC today....SIF please come quickly.

09-07-2010 : RFE signed for by Desmond at 10:16 a.m.

09-10-2010 : NVC acknowledges receipt of the RFE

09-30-2010 : SIF

10-01-2010 : Case complete as per NVC AVR

10-05-2010 : Interview date assigned for November 29, 2010 at 7:00 a.m. Approved

Thanks Triaxxx and jujuswife, I will cal them tonight. Who knows. Might as well break the ice...

You will have the number to NVC memorized, the menu options, and sub-menu options, your case number and your invoice number memorized before you are thru. As for the NVC operators - it reached a point in the March-April threads, where we were posting the operator's name, if they were nice or rude, and if they actually gave you any information, instead of just reading the prepared script they have been given.

But fear not! You will make it thru.

Hello all,

We just got our NOA2 on July 1st, and assigned a NVC case number just a few days ago. YAY!!!

Can anyone post an attachment of their AOS Barcoded Coversheet, preferably an "official" one from the NVC, but even a "create your own" example would be awesome (assuming it's been sent in and accepted without any problems). We are in the waiting period between having paid our AOS fee (currently "in process") and being able to print out the NVC sent barcoded coversheet. However, we've had all of our NVC forms filed out and ready to go for months now, so anything we can do to speed up the waiting would be fantastic. Just don't want to send something in that will actually hinder our process.

If anyone can post their barcoded coversheet, or share their "create your own" experiences/sucesses/issues, that would be awesome!

Thanks so much,

Jess & Daniel

One more question:

Did any of my fellow "eager beavers" that filled out your NVC forms ahead of time (ie. prior to even receiving your NOA2) have any issues using the forms from USCIS instead of the forms that the NVC sent?

For example, we printed out the DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) Form online from the USCIS website and have it ready to go (in addition to emailing it), but when we got the Choice of Agent form from the NVC, the forms didn't look alike. They do however have the same version numbers at the top. AND we are printing out labels with the barcode included on the NVC Choice of Agent email to attach to the tops of any forms we send in. Should that be okay? Only issue with sending in the NVC sent Choice of Agent Form is that my husband filled out and signed the form we printed from the USCIS and sent it to me several weeks ago, so I have it in hand, ready to send. If he was to print out the new NVC Choice of Agent form, it would take weeks to send it from the UK to the US, assuming it ever gets there at all. :)

Any advice/stories/experiences?

THANKS!

Hey March2010! Thanks for the response! Did you go the "create your own barcoded coversheet" route as well?

Yes, but the bar code had an advertisement for the that web site that makes it. I removed that using Photoshop and then printed it. I did also send an email too.

Sweet! That's exactly what I was did. Did yours look like the document attached? And then you just changed the case number and pasted your barcode in place of the current one?

I did that for the Choice of Agent only.

For the I-864, I used their cover sheet fro the payment portal.
