March2010,

Bextavaz isn't filing for CR1. The PD is the priority date. For other visa types, the priority date matters as to when they will give you an interview and assign you a visa. There is no real priority date for CR1. Those are always current.

If you look at his time line, you will notice it took almost 4 years to get through USCIS.

and to think I'd pretty much forgotten that I'd even applied at that mark... haha! I was actually expecting it to be more like 13 or so years... lol

annnnd I'm only in here because there's no other NVC threads for the "other than marriage/fiance" types

Good luck to all - hope those who have been waiting for a while get the good news... and all the rest of you advance through the minefield safely

John- you might make it if only at the end (but hopefully sooner!).

Sweetcheeksss-You for sure should be good to go straight on out of this July NVC thread pretty soon (as long as NVC does what they are supposed to do and is nice to you).

Depressed Wife- Sorry that NVC is taking their sweet time with your case. I hope you can get a CC before they finish scheduling for August. I'll watch for you in the August interview thread. I won't be there but will be happy to see you in that group.

Chris&Cecil- Of course you can join!!! You should be getting a case number soon, right? Then all of your fun can begin! :).

Chris & Cecil, do you already have the case number? By looking at your time line, you might be up to the part of waiting for an IV bill. Where are you at in the process?

Hello! I have been hanging around these NVC threads since February. They do help - the people here give you encouragement and moral support! Hang in there. Remember what you are doing all this for. It's worth it!

Quick note - once you do get your LIF/SIF, it will depend on how backed up your embassy is. Dominican Republic was backed up a couple of months, Montreal is backed up three or so (a bit past three months at last check), and Jordan is 4+ (Hang in there Ally). So don't get too down if it takes a bit of time to get your interview date. We are (or have been) in the same boat! Good luck!

Married: 01/02/09

Married (or anyone), have you ever heard of anyone successfully getting expedited thru the interview phase? Specifically thru the Montreal consulate? Is that even an option? Our case has been expedited thru every step so far but I am just curious about Montreal.

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Suggestions:

1) Have the beneficiary mail SIGNED extra DS230s to you so that you have them handy in case something goes wrong. Or you get hit by a dreaded RFE.

2) If you just received your NOA2, THIS is the time to get your tax stuff and police certificates sorted out. Don't waste time on this.

3) Double check the PCC requirements in the regional forums as they are country specific.

4) Check the pinned STUPID RFEs thread in IR-1/CR-1 forum before sending in your packages.

5) Mail your DS230 package to your USC spouse as soon as you get your NOA2. That way he/she can overnight it to NVC as soon as the IV bill clears.

6) Get your taxes, employment letter, paystubs, PCCs, civil documents etc. while you wait for the NOA2.

Currently the # of business days NVC is taking:

3-4 days for NVC to receive your case and assign a case #.

3-4 days to receive emailed links after case # has been assigned and email addresses been given to NVC operator.

1-2 days for the AOS bill to show as PAID.

1-3 days for DS3032 to be accepted.

1-2 days for IV bill to be PAID.

8-11 days for case complete after all your documents have been sent in.

Folks--please make sure your official VJ timelines are up to date. Remember this is our only source of predictions. Thankyou!

NOTE:

If you want to try to move your interview to an earlier day, you MUST wait until your case is forwarded and received by your embassy. From there you must contact your embassy to request to move it. There are no guarantees.

What is RFE? :bonk:

What is RFE? :bonk:

RFE is short for Request for further Evidence.

It's a dreaded thing. NVC might request more paperwork from you or a missing document that you forgot to send. Or if you filled out something the wrong way on a form or forgot to check a box you might get one.

People dread it so much because it slows down your process.

And here I am too. Hoping to not stay very long. :D

Teya I hope the document collecting is going fast so that you can at least send something in soon!

My fingers are crossed for you.

Alles wird gut und wenn es noch nicht gut ist, ist es noch nicht vorbei.
