yes Teya, I've tried calling, no case number yet. I'm glad waiter got his number. I actually sent a PM to him this morning telling him to be patient. so if he got his today, maybe mine is tomorrow or tuesday since my noa2 is 1 day later compared to him....

anyway, did anyone notice that instruction from lingche to also ask about invoice id number while you obtain your case number from the operator? is this still accurate/current? what is it for?

i also use lingche's nvc tips as my main reference but keep in mind they did write it in 2008 I believe.

also, for filer's with Filipino beneficiaries, I came across a thread dealing with the option of an advance medical evaluation. to make it short, they were saying we can get a manila case number as well with the Nvc case number and this is the only thing needed and one can already go for a medical exam ahead of time. by getting an early medical, i think this will indirectly speed up the interview later on 'cause once case is complete and interview is set, one can call the local embassy and request for an earlier interview and by mentioning your done with the medical, that makes it more reasonable to expedite the interview. I will research more into this.... will appreciate anybody else's inputs though...

triaxxx- the invoice i.d. number is now sent to you in the DS3032/I-864 e-mail. I had a hard time finding it but it is on the VERY last page of the 10 page (or so) pdf that they send you. So that is something that isn't correct anymore.

Besides this message that you all copy and post without anyone asking for it is kind of rude. "Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs". Really? It sounds very condensending and impolite.

Uh, okay, man, suit yourself. I've posted this same message in every NVC Edition thread since February and most people appreciate having all the information to refer to in one place. If you don't like it, don't read it, ya? No need to get your panties in a bunch.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, M2009, and you're very welcome. :star: I was beginning to think I'd 'offended' the good folks with my use of the term 'noob' and all.

And I see that your interview is coming up in a couple of weeks! Yay. Finally, so exciting, ya?

You might have 'offended' one or two, but you have helped more. If you don't think so, dig out the March thread :) You kept Ats from going crazy, and Yul, also!

I am absolutely thrilled! Hubby decided to do his medical in Montreal, so he is flying out next Tuesday for the medical Wednesday. I will fly to Montreal Friday to join him. Pick up the results Monday, and interview Tuesday. Then we can finally get on with our lives!

Thanks for helping the July NVCers out and no problem for a newer rough estimate of times :). The crummy thing is that those time lines change all of the time  . It would be nice if the NVC had a better estimate than 6-8 weeks. At least it doesn't really take that long to be able to get new info on your case. I feel bad for those who are told to wait the 6-8 weeks because they don't know that they can just fill up the forms and send everything in wayyyyyyyy before that mark.

I have personally used LingChe because I read that one before Christine's and I am a person who gets easily confused but reading more than one set of "how to do this". I will nit pick and find things that are slightly different and wig out and not know who to trust. I think you also have to go on your own instincts of what seems best for you and your own case.

Yea, there's usually an ebb+flow when you get to NVC, depending on their backlog, other stuff going on (in my days it was Haiti, powercuts, system failures, earthquakes etc), and how fast USCIS is approving petitions.

I happen to find Christine's (she wrote down the 'formula/equation,' if you will) breakdown easy to comprehend. It's not a 'how-to-do-it' guide, per say, but rather a 'what-to-expect.' LingChe is very informative as well but is a bit outdated and has some redundant information. The flowcharts made no sense to me.

Hope you find 'your way' and good luck to you! :)

Aah, March. Oh, March. Given that I remember having a near-mental-breakdown and behaving quite abominably due to a RFE during the NVC process, I'm just going to let sleeping dogs lie. *must. repress. memories.*

Awesome! Good luck to you both!

Amazing!

It is amazing. That is one of the great things about VJ. Free, almost-instantaneous information available at your fingertips, sometimes, even without you asking for it. And, hon, whether you like it or not, you ARE a NVC noob. Nothing to get 'offended' about. I was a 'noob' too, not too long back, and was grateful for every word of advice, tip, helpful suggestion, nugget of wisdom that I received from those who chose to stick around after their respective VJs were over. They, along with my NVC buddies, are the only reason I got through this process with an ounce of my sanity left. You clearly don't appreciate well-wishers, so henceforth, just ignore whatever I post and I'll do the same. Ya?

1. The IIN will be enclosed with the AOS/DS3032 email that NVC will send you.

2. Yes, beneficiaries from the Philippines may complete their medical at St. Luke's once their NVC case # has been assigned.
