standby biometrics?

My wife has received her biometrics appointment for re entry permit that is about a week later than we had expected. Her appt is for July 18 and we were hoping for somethign like July 12 or sooner. Now that her petition is in their system, I'm wondering if anyone on VJ has had success rescheduling for an earlier date than their scheduled time.

If not, is it possible for her to go on a standby?

people do walk in biometrics all the time. You can't make a rescheduling for an earlier date than they gave you so she will have to walk in and if they are not busy they will do it for her. I did a walk in biometrics on May 20th. They asked why I can't wait till June 10 as scheduled and I told them I will be in Texas for training. No further questions asked and I was done in about 30 minutes.

Did you do an INFOpass appt or walked into your nearest local service center?

I just walked in. You can't do an infopass to have your biometrics done. Early bio is a favor you want from them so just show up with a good reason why you want it done earlier than the date uscis has assigned to you. You shouldn't have problems. Good luck.

Actually over the weekend I made an infopass at the head office of USCIS in Minnesota. First thing Monday morning we head to our appt and I explained our situation. The lady at the counter phoned the assigned location and we received a reschedule for later in the day at the location assigned in our letter.

I'll update later today after the appt.
