Profession - I respect him no matter what he does, but the ability to make a good life for HIMSELF and his future family was vital in my choice.

there are many other things I factored into my ideal partner...I think character is a BIG part of that...whether they are trustworthy, honest, upstanding, etc...

Without these factors being met, I don't think D and I would have gotten together. I was definately discerning with choosing my partner. ..........

I agree with much of what you said. He had to have a good head on his shoulders.

About physical appearance I didn't have a real outline because I had crushes on guys in the past who were not "hot", but because of their personalities they became cute on the outside too IMO. So for me, the inward person was most important. I do think Sujeet is handsome though , but that is not why I started falling in love with him. It was just a nice add on!

Definitely the same here! Someone who would take initiative too.

Profession wise, I wanted stability. I was looking for someone with a good work ethic. I didn't have a preference for a level of college or any college, but just someone who already knew what they were good at or had a career going already. I unfortunately knew many friends whose husbands didn't work, and loafed around the house while their wives worked their butts off the pay the bills. It was sickening to me. So my guy definitely had to want to work. I am always willing to work too, but I didn't want a husband who just wouldn't work.

Sujeet is definitely the kind of person (inwardly) that I was looking for to marry.

Now, if I had been asked many years ago what I think my future hubby's outward appearance would be like, I probably would have said a band guy who liked playing guitar and listening to indie rock music, possibly with some tattoos. I ended up with a cute sweet Indian guy who never really heard much rock music before I came into his life. The poor guy, I make him listen to AFI really loudly at times(what's with AFI's hideous hairstyles!??). He is a good sport.

not class.. but looking for improvement in life.. yes.. not everybody had the chance to go/finish college.. but there are lots of people who try to improve themselves every day.. so.. that's very different to a guy that says 'school is boring' and is happy flipping burgers when you/they know they can do way much better..

but of course some credentials help.. as in my case.. my wife is a college graduate who soon will pursue her master's degree.. I really know I wouldn't have stand a chance if when we met I would have told her 'i dont go to college, that's dumb', or 'i dont care for an education'

I understand what you trying to say and that's exactly what I was looking far.. a guy with collage degree and ambition (sp?) or at least have the same intellect coz i know not everybody with a collage degree is smart.

Well.. my hubby is not a collage graduate, and really think it's useless for him and wont do it evnthough it migth be good for him in the future if he has it... BUT he's very smart, self studied (he thinks class is boring coz he can understand the whole book by just read it once and get a 90%+ score - so he wont do good in collage) So before I really get to know him.. I already know that he didnt go to collage and wont and if i didnt give him and myself a chance to know more about him i would've thought that he's not worth it..

but THANKS GOODNESS we spent time together and i got to know the most wonderful person. He's also very successful in his career now at age 26 and still looking for a way to grow. So yes he is my greatest catch (which i wasnt really hope for!!) and i'm sure love is not blind for us.
