I just had my I-693 Medical over the last few days & not once did i see the civil surgeon. The paperwork was done by the receptionist, vaccinations & TB skin test by nurse. Nurse reads TB skin test 2 days later, & then next day picked up my completed Form I-693 from receptionist.

Is it normal not to see the Civil Surgeon?

P.S. What a great money spinner- charge whatever you like & then get your nurses to do all the work!

That is very strange because the civil surgeon must sign the form and confirm that she checked your health state.

You can check on your copy of I-693 if the doctor signed it. Are you sure that that was a nurse?

Dead sure. Unless he had a sex change!

My Civil Surgeon was a male (Daniel) & i only ever dealt with females.

I kept waiting for the physical where he would check me out but it never happened. All the boxes on the form are ticked to say i'm fine & he signed it, but i just thought it was strange never to see him.

When I had my vaccination info transcribed to an I-693, it was the same thing. I dealt solely with a female nurse/receptionist. She took the papers back to the male CS, who signed them. I never saw his face :)

I guess it works because, at least in the case of a K-1 who only needs their vaccination info transferred, al he's really signing is that the vaccination info form name and information matches the name and vaccination information the nurse has put on the I-693. That's how it was for me anyways.
