I attended my fiance's interview in Tokyo 2 weeks ago. They only asked 4 questions. They never asked to see any evidence of ongoing relationship. We were conditionaly approved, just needed 1 more police clearance. My fiance got her visa yesterday. Just make sure your fiance gives the embassy all of the documents they may ask for and things will work out just fine. Also come to the interview prepared with your supporting evidence. BETTER TO HAVE AND NOT NEED THAN TO NEED AND NOT HAVE !!!
