Hello all,

My name is Eric and I am a U.S. Citizen (New Jersey).

I fell in love with a Georgian girl(Nino) and we got engaged in May 4, 2010 in Istanbul.

I wanted to bring her here via a K-1 Fiance Visa but after speaking to my lawyer today, he recommended just marrying abroad(Georgia).

He told me that with background checks and all, it could take a long time for her to come here - he said there were legislation changes in 2007 that makes it longer now. He said, if I wanted, if the process was taking long to get her here, I could file for K-3 to bring her here quicker.

Time is of the essence as I wanted her to come with me to my home country, the Philippines. She would need to be here around March/April and apply for advanced parole after immediately marrying, and leave to go to the Philippines with me in July.

Sorry for the long story! Here are my questions!

1. What are the Marriage regulations there in Georgia?

2. What exactly do I need to marry there?

3. Is there a length of time I have to be in Georgia to marry in Georgia?

Any help, insight, tips, etc. is truly and greatly appreciated!

Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!
