Hello, my husband's Ap got approved the other day, and once it comes in the mail, we're going to visit his family. I would like to know how it works, from someone who has travelled on it.

Specifically: The airline usually confiscates the old I-94 when you check in. However, we will need to keep it for our interiew, right? Will the airline KNOW not to confiscate it? If I take it out of the passport and leave it at home, will they hassle us?

I am understanding it like a "unique" or "non-related" exit/entry permit, so that the "official/original" entry permit needs to be kept intact. (Like he had never left on his tourist visa after we applied for AOS, even though we are leaving.) Is this right?

What form will he fill out on reentry? Will he get a new I-94? Or will they just stamp the AP?

And we stayed in status (no overstay) before we applied, so no need to mention any ban-triggers. Thanks.

AOS for my husband
