DH visiting during CR-1 process

My husband is coming to visit me next month for a couple weeks here in the USA from the UK. We are in the process of the CR-1 and I wanted to know if he would run into any problems in the immigration? I hear different stories here, so just want to get a refresher. He will have a round trip ticket, and does have a job back in the UK. If advised i'll have him get a manager to sign a proof of employment but if this isnt needed then i won't have him bother. Any advise would be very much appreciated!! Thanks!

I dont think there is a problem. I went to U.S. with my husband in early May, I have a tourist visa and meanwhile we are at CR-1 process.

Officer at the immigration asked me few questions, I think his purpose was to make sure I understand I am not allow the live in U.S. with tourist visa, I must go back to my country to apply an immigration visa. The officer did not ask me for any documents. He is polite and patient.

He's traveling by himself to visit me here in the US. Will it still be the same scenario you think? You indicated that you both traveled together to the US.

From what I have heard, it all depends on the individual who questions him. I would have him bring proof of strong ties to his home country. In the Canadian forums, they mention lease agreements, bank statements, letters from employer, things like that.

Good luck!

^^ Agree.

If he can get a letter from his employer stating when he is expected back that would be helpful. Bringing any documentation you have to date showing you have started the process (NOA1) may also be helpful. Many have travelled throughout the process and had no difficulty but it is always at the discretion of the immigration official questioning him. Good luck!
