Beyond her incredibly repulsive looks, Milwaukee, WI County Supervisor Peggy West is a moron. It should come as no surprise that Peggy West is a Democrat. The County Board panel was considering a boycott of Arizona over its new immigration law, SB1070, but Ms. West didn't understand why Milwaukee would boycott a non-border state? Because, apparently, Arizona doesn't border Mexico. What's worse is that on the incompetent buffoon's Facebook page, one of her interests listed is Mexican history, which, by her geographical knowledge, could be somewhere in Russia. Or Africa.

Yes, Peggy West could understand why Texas, a border state, would want to boycott Arizona's racist immigration law, as she called it, but not Arizona because it's not a border state in her mind. And people wonder why this country is going to hell in a hand-basket? When you elect Democrats, you're also electing the spaghetti they have between their ears.

If Peggy West makes a public statement about her idiotic comments, be prepared to laugh over the excuse. At least her coworker had the decency to correct her.

Peggy West - go study a globe and put down the twinkies.

Seeing her talk makes me surprised that she even knows Texas shares a border with Mexico.

Worse, it makes me wonder how many other people against Arizona are aware of what's happening there if one doesn't live in an area with a big illegal alien population.

I don't think that anyone who doesn't live in a place with a lot of illegal immigrants can relate to the situation in Arizona at all. It's a lot easier to pass judgment on Arizonans from a thousand miles away or more.

I wonder how effective her boycott will be if she doesn't know where Arizona is? I guess she will stop buying Arizona Ice Tea (made in New York)

In Milwaukee you can look out on a good day and see Mexico... you know when those Mexicans decide to attack the US Milwaukee will be the first point of attack...

How do these people survive from one day to the next? seriously.. how can they feed and house themselves or stay out of the way of moving traffic for that matter...

Codependency. They go through their whole lives assuming that someone else will just take care of things for them. And there are always people whose mission in life is to do just that. I know people like this, on both sides.

The Governor of Texas, a State with a huge boarder with Mexico is against the AZ law, feeling in my opinion quite correctly that it deflects law enforcement efforts away from the truly criminal acting illegals i.e. those who come here illegally to commit actual crime. Governor Perry has an R after his name.

Sorry but all this hoopla over the AZ law is really pretty much a sack o'shite.

Kark Rove, Jeb Bush, and Marco Rubio are also Republican's with expressed concerns over the AZ law.

The problem with "awareness" about what is happening is that the hoopla has blown the entire issue out of all proportion to reality.

I quite agree with your assessment of the personal qualities of those I listed, however they are people with polar opposite political views from President Obama, the chief whipping boy of the VJ Xenophobia club. Yet both Obama and his political polar opposites agree, with some disagreements over exactly why, that there are problems with the AZ law. That was my only point bringing those particular Republican pols up. Seeing problems with the AZ law is not merely an affliction suffered by bleeding heart liberals.

The latter part of my post stands on its own, illegal immigration is actually down, crimes committed by illegal immigrants are not skyrocketing, and in fact for many illegal immigrants being illegal is actually an impediment to committing further crimes. The entire "but they steal American jobs" line is a flaming crock which has been leveled at every immigrant group legal or otherwise throughout US history, and efforts to enforce US working standards in defense of illegals is seen as some sort of horrible betrayal of American ideals.

This whole issue, as stated in my first post, is being blown so out of proportion to reality it is as mystifying as it is pathetic.

New Mexico has to put USA on it's license plates since some people don't realize it's a state. We are doomed.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

I am sorry your Governor Perry Statment does not stand.

"He stated it would not be appropriate for his state." Huge difference.

He is concerned with his border security which is not being addressed by any administration.

http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/world/texas-governor-perry-says-arizonas-immigration-law-is-not-appropriate-for-texas_100356232.html

While there are oppenents of the law on the Conserative and liberal sides the majority of the legal citizens are speaking out in support for it.

This is why you here very little from the capital; they do not want ot tick off their repsective constituents.

Further more these peopel stating that 1/3 of the USA population is hispanic then this should be proof of 2 things they are no longer a minority and that 70% of legal hispanic citizens support the law.

There are also hidden agendas that we will never see becasue there is no transparency on the hill; those agendas could include border security that Obama is holding hostage until he gets what he wants nto what the people want.

BTW why do people who support free open borders with no immigration laws insist on calling people who are for strong immigration laws and border security Xenophobic.

We have no fear of foreign people. The term is misrepresented by uneducated or the people full of hate becasue they know they are wrong and support their ideas to further their own agenda.

Most people who support these open borders and no immigration laws do not have the means to support themselves let alone additional taxes to cover the cost of the larger welfare system or only wish to maintain a false I feel good emotion. But I would never misuse a word with a clear definition such as you have done.
