Hello All,

Although I may be a new member of visajourney.com I am certainly not new to the whole immigration process. Let me tell you a little bit about my husband and I's current situation and maybe someone can provide me with some information. My husband received an approval for his I-601 waiver application October 15, 2009 from the Athens Embassy (we are currently working through the US Embassy in Beirut but all waiver cases in Beirut get transferred to the Athens embassy just...to clarify), the Athens Embassy transferred his file back to the Beirut embassy after his waiver approval to issue the visa but as of November 11, 2009 his visa has been put on hold awaiting clearance for administrative processing through Washington. It as been OVER 7 months now and not the US Embassy in Beirut, nor the embassy in Athens, not even Washington is giving me any idea as to when his processing will be complete. I spoke to my US state Representative and he looked into my husband's case for me, but even he couldn't get a straight answer. I was just wondering, have any of you, or are any of you in my current situation and if so, how long did you wait before the AP on your case was complete? I do know that AP could take over a year to complete but I'm praying this does not happen to us. I would really appreciate any information or advice from you all. I know we are all in the same boat here (so-to-speak) so we can relate, which brings me some comfort. Take care and thanks everyone!! :)

Hello, and an unfortunate welcome to our little corner of the black hole that is known as AP!

There's quite a few of us in AP, myself included. There's a thread devoted to us (aren't we lucky lol) and whereas you don't have to read all 133 pages, the last few pages should give you a fairly good idea of our various cases. Also, the very post on the very first page, by Whatznext, has a link at the bottom to a spreadsheet with all our dates on there. Of course you're welcome to join, but you'll be able to see how long some people have been waiting. Whatznext herself is currently our longest, approaching two years.

Here's hoping that your wait won't be for much longer :)
