Is there a way to change my interview date?

Hi VJers,

Hopefully someone can give me insights on this...

My K1 Visa application was approved with a valid date range of 5/19/10 to 9/19/10 but my interview date was scheduled for 10/13/10 which is almost a month outside of the approval range on my NOA2. I am concerned about the interview being scheduled after the date my approval expires and October seems like forever right now. Realistically, I know some have waited for much longer on other things but I am wondering does anyone know of any avenues I can take to get a sooner interview date? I have emailed the Consulate and pointed this out to no avail.

Any suggestions that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone experienced this or was anyone successful in changing their interview date?

Thanks Everyone

There are only so many interview slots available and they won't "bump" anyone to accommodate you, so unless there is a cancellation

YMMV

It is very common for Nigeria to interview after the K1 expires. They seem to do a lot of checking. Hopefully it is done by the time of your interview. The worse thing to deal with is an interview that goes well then being told there are more checks that need to be done. Better to have a slow date and hope that there is no post interview waiting. But remember NEVER buy tickets until the visa is in hand

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
