GWB is certainly the worst president in my lifetime. 9/11, wars of dubious justification in Iraq and Afghanistan (including the awarding of $5bn + in no-bid contracts to companies associated with the business interests of people in his administration, the destruction of New Orleans, economic collapse etc. etc.

I can't really judge Obama at this point (as he came into office in the middle of a major world recession) other than to say that it's difficult to see what decisive decisions his administration actually made over the last year - healthcare reform was pushed through in a half-arsed manner (that is a notable failure), economic stimulus and bailout of the banks (but nothing different to what every other country was doing at the time).

Barry is edging out Jimmy as worse president, in my book. While there are plenty of parallels between them, Jimmy was more incompetent than arrogant. Barry pretty much divides evenly between incompetence and arrogance while raising deception and obfuscation to new heights.

From what I understand Carter's presidency was marked by economic downturn and a few high profile missteps with foreign policy. Seems to be judged more on the basis of that than of the circumstances of his time.

On the drilling moratorium though, gotta agree, big mistake by Obama and his band of merry men. Get the hell out there, inspect each and every rig in operation, and shut down the one's who are messed up. Simple as that, without the cost and risks associated with a blanket shut down.
