It's not really suprising that societies that remove the positive value ascribed to family relationships result in a general degradation of that society. Families are the bedrock of social structure and social structures drive how we all treat each other not simply members of our own families. We should be providing structures to encourage family cohesion, providing for people who have to take responsibility for elderly family members as well as children, not trying to remove all the glue that knits our society together in the name of fairness toward the childless.

We do not live in a socialist society, not yet anyways.

eta: no one's saying don't have a family/don't have a job. But if you can't do the job, then you shouldn't have it.

i agree. economic downturns would be a lot less painful if families still existed.

I make no assumptions as to whether or not your family is or isn't important. You said you were 'childless' and that was why you were assigned more work at weekends and holidays. I don't know if that's the reason, I can't possibly know, but what I do know is that particular eventuality is not addressed by this bill in any shape or form. If therefore you are simply casting this out as an example of how life simply isn't fair for the childless, well, you will get no sympathy from me. It's a case of swings and roundabouts for the most part - working weekends usually brings benefits as well as costs, more business is done at weekends than weekdays and if your pay was customer driven (as it was) you benefited at least as much as you lost out so boo hoo.

They would tell me 'oh this one and that one have kids, blah blah blah' I told you (and everyone) in my first post addressing this that it was the case. You felt the need to sit here and bicker with me, now you're all 'oh how would I know?' Now you're changing the arguments that I benefited because pay was customer driven, which it wasn't...I honestly don't know why you do what you do sometimes.

I never said this was in the bill either. It was an evolving thought based on something someone here said which I felt was relevant.

I don't want nor need your sympathy, but I certainly don't need you to but your big fkin nose in and tell me how 'wrong' I am for feeling the way I do. Clearly, by your own words, you don't know the situation. So then don't comment on it, lol. You obviously just need to yip at everyone like a rabid hyper poodle, to exert your opinion onto others. It's ridiculous and quite arrogant, not to mention tiring.

I mean really.

This working more weekends and holidays than anyone else wasn't when you were hairdressing? I thought that was your job before real estate. So shoot me, I'm wrong, however, I am quite sure that in some way you benefited while your burdened colleagues with children did not - that's how life is. Very few people are universally on the losing end, apart from those in abject poverty but that's another story. Why you feel you were hard done by because your 'childless' state meant your work demanded that you work more weekends and holidays than those who, presumably had children is completely baffling though at this point I'm struggling to care any more. You do remember making that comment, right? Why does it matter what day of the week you work? Only certain types of companies work weekends and as I said, normally there is some benefit from doing so, financial incentive springs readily to mind - most people are paid time and a half for working weekend shifts, as well as other less 'savoury' hours (the graveyard shift for example). if you worked in a business that didn't make it up to you in some way, well, more fool you.

By the way, why do you even bother to speculate on why I do what I do? Oh, I know so you can somehow suggest that when I post, it's somehow less meaningful than when you post

I don't speculate on the motives of others by the way, it seems an eminently pointless waste of time and energy.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I speculate on why you do what you do because I am honestly baffled as to why you felt the need to change what I'm saying, and then counter with points that aren't relevant to anything I said. I don't care what you do, but it's quite funny how you claim to be concerned with wasting time and energy, yet you spend much of it going around here telling everyone how wrong they are to believe what they do.

You may claim to not speculate, but you took a simple statement I've made, and added so many false scenarios to the equation, it's not even funny. Because why? I can't assert an opinion of my own without you barging in and telling me how wrong I am to feel the way I do? It's BS.

You can feel however you want to feel, and although I may disagree with you, I'll never begrudge your right to do so. You should try that with others.

Wasting time with entertainment that I can control is rather different than wasting energy on wondering about something that I can't control at all but you speculate to your hearts content.

Since when did I tell everyone they are wrong about everything? That's hyperbole at its finest that is as is all this 'barging in' and how you don't begrudge but that I do. Hilarous. Thanks for that, that was priceless.

I guess we'll never know why your weekends were so squandered on a company who cared naught for your childless state and your own family ties. Never mind :)

Bitter? Quit worrying about me, you are not as perceptive as you believe you are.

I've re read what you wrote, Sundays and days before holidays? #######? You have some weird issues. How does working the 'day before a holiday' impact you negatively? As for Sundays, Oh well. to me it really was never a big deal to work weekends, I liked having Mondays and Tuesdays off but I could have complained and had it changed if I had chosen to, and got paid less - most people do have that choice but you chose not to exercise it then and ###### about it now. I find that funny.

Sure, if you say so - though why you think that is beyond me. I care less than you do, I'm more bored than you are and I fully intend to tell you go get off the internet, because that's an entirely realistic request

I find you entertaining actually, thanks for the laugh.
