Will go for the oath ceremony tomorrow, and wondering what else to bring besides the docs listed on N-445.

Should I bring the whole application pack with me just in case? Or will immigration have the application pack there with them?

The letter I received also says "final interview" - does this mean immigration will need to go through the application materials with questions again?

I know I am bit paranoid, but I guess you can understand my anxiousness. Thank you for sharing.

I haven't gone through that yet, but from what I heard is they ask you if you have traveled (to maintain eligibility for continuous residence) as well as if you have been arrested, etc... since your interview. I think that's what they mean with final interview.

I think at this point, you just need to take what they list on the N-445 since you already passed the interview.

good luck!

One more thing... if you did travel, make sure you bring your passport with you to show them entry/exit stamps if they ask for them.

Oh, welcome to VJ!!!!

They will go over the oath form that you received at the interview or when you were scheduled for your oath. They will verify each of your answers and will ensure that you marriage status hasn't changed and if you have travelled outside of the US since your interview, they will verify you still meet the physical presence and residency requirements. They will take any current travel documents you have (if you ever were issued any), then at the actual ceremony, they will take your green card. You will then receive the certificate at the end of the ceremony.

So, bring your passport, your oath letter, your green card and your camera :) .

thank you Kathryn41 and v333k.

no i did not get any ticket, no travel, so guess should be fine then, :) thanks.

ps. "verify you still meet the physical presence and residency" - how would they do that just curious? immigration will take some sort of case summary paper for each candidate w/ them?

If you didn't travel, then there will not be any checking. Continuous residence means you haven't traveled outside the US for periods of 6 months or longer, and the physical presence is verifying that you have spent 18 months in the past 36 months in the US.

Wasn't quite like the interview where you may have been given the third degree on how you answered each question, if you answered "No" for the eight questions on the rear, they quickly look at that. Can fill out everything beforehand with exception of your signature, you sign that in front of the administer.

Of course you have to be honest in how you answered these questions, could haunt you later, normally a line, even a very long line, so they try to process this phase as quick as possible. And these questions only apply to the time from your interview to your oath ceremony.

Couldn't help but joke to my wife after she received her certificate, now you can be naughty.

Don't forget your green card, and don't wear blue jeans, but doesn't say anything about going naked.

Being equally paranoid, did toss my huge briefcase in the car with everything since day one with the USCIS, but it stayed in the car. The oath ceremony was actually very nice and big strong me almost had a tear in my eye. But kind of dampened now after we learned my wife still has to maintain her foreign passport. More money out of our pocket and I dread that long boring trip.

If they tell you that you are now a citizen just like you were born here, raise your hand and ask, is that really true?

Carlz-Good luck with your oath ceremony coming up. Congrats on being a US Citizen!

Lol...I never got an oath letter..(they called me up by phone to arrange for a private ceremony instead...), so I had no clue in writing as to what I had to bring. Though luckily I asked them about what to bring, on the phone, and remembered to bring my green card (which they wanted back...sigh...), driver's license, camera, a baby carseat and packed a bag full of baby stuff for my son.....

On the day of the oath, I had to fill out the N-445 too....No problems with that, as that was the only questions they asked and there was no other interview/questions after that....(as others have mentioned too)

The bottom line: bring your green card, any other immigration documents, driver's license, passport, camera, and if you have kids bring stuff for them too...But don't bring a cell phone or any other distracting/dangerous items...

And most important of all: Bring back home with you a naturalization certificate and a lifetime full of memories!

Hope this helps. Good luck. Congrats.
