So...

quite a few people were so kind to respond supportively when we missed our AOS interview appointment due to my scheduling error. Thank you for that. I still get sick when a friend asks "so how did the interview go??".

When I talked to USCIS about the situation they told me to write a letter to the local office and request a new appointment, which I did. The third person I asked suggested that if I haven't heard anything within 30 days, to make an infopass appointment. I did that this afternoon. The only day available this month was almost exactly 30 days after our first appointment, and about 28 days since they would've received the request letter, and two weeks from tomorrow. I figure if we haven't gotten any notification by then, we'll keep that appointment.

So here's my question (sorry for the long lead-in):

Has anyone ever heard of anyone actually receiving their AOS on an infopass appointment?

I am thinking we should all go (my husband, myself, and our son), and of course we will bring all the paperwork as the infopass instructions say, so we will be ready if we should be so lucky. I just wondered if it has ever happened before....

Thanks so much, and best wishes to all...

Maya

I would think it's unlikely, but not impossible. Probably depends on whether there's an officer there and free who can do the interview.

I hope you do get it though - that would put a smile on your face, I'm sure!

Thanks for your reply ChristinaM!

Yeah, it would put a huge smile on all of our faces. And a load off our backs!

Nothing would surprise me in this process (knock on wood). I guess we'll all 3 go to the infopass appointment and haul all of our documentation in there, just in case. We can dream... right? :P

Best wishes!

Maya
