hello. I'm currently staying in Virginia on j1visa. Does anyone know how 2 transfer 2 f1visa and study in VA? TNX.

I don't know if you can do it in the US but I can tell you a friend of mine who was on J-1 (With 2YR HRR) had no problems receiving F1 visa. She came back to Bosnia just for 2 weeks to get the visa and had no issues.

First you have to find the school you want to enroll in ... where you are moving to. Get the application for International students at that school and contact Intarnational Student Service to help you out with what document you need. After you apply you will get a respond from the school either you get accepted or not. Then they will issue you I-20. Once you get I-20 from school, you need that to change your visa status from J-1 to F-1. You will send the original I-20 and other required documents to the Immigration Office to approve your changing of visa status. Consult the international students service or go to immigration website for more details.....well, you might already figured out.
