JOURNEY IN USCIS

We filed the papers last year May, 2009 when I came back from Philippines. I sent the forms including money order check ($300+), ITR and WC to USCIS. After two weeks I called them and they told me that the check has been cashed already. We waited for the NOA1 but after 5 months we still havent received anything so I called them again asking how long does it takes for them to process it and for us to receive it? They told me that they were still processing the papers. Because it was first time for all of these, I accept. After 7 months we still havent received anything so I called them again and again and again and finally they told me that our papers were missing and they were still trying to track it down:huh: :( I was irritated already because it took them 7 months to tell us that our papers were missing. After a month still no good news for us so I have decided to talk to the Immigration lawyer about the problem. He called someone in the immigration to confirm if our papers were in their system. After he hang-up the phone he told me that we should resend the form. We dont need to pay for it again because its already on their system. It took 5 mins for the lawyer to fix the problem and thats all we need to do RESEND the papers. Paid $100 for 5 mins assistance :(

A month after we resend the papers, we finally received the NOA1 (Feb., 2010). After 2 weeks we received a letter that we are lacked of evidence and that we need to send them the papers that they were asking. Luckily, we have everything ready so we were able to send them the papers the next day. After 2 months we received the NOA2 saying they approved our papers.

JOURNEY IN NVC

We waited for the letter from NVC but havent received anything again (whew! hard when its your first time). My wife ask her friend who has the same case. She told her that we are the one who should call the NVC for the Case Number (start with MNL) and thats what I did. When I already have the case # I finally was able to talk to the representative and ask her anything regarding our papers. I gave her my name and my wifes name the case # birthday etc. so she could check it out in their system. also gave her our email add. After a week I received a package from them and the Invoice for AOS ($70) saying we need to pay for it so they could start processing the papers. My wife received an email for DS3032 or Choice of Agent. She print it out, signed it and then send it to nvciquiry@state.gov (their email add)

Now we are waiting for them to encash the $400 dollar money order. They said it took 10-12 days for them to encash the check (if you will pay the fee online it takes 3 days). I wasnt able to pay the fee online because they were asking for checking account and I dont have that. I've tried credit card but not working and so money order is the only option. According to the lady after they encash the check we will receive an email for the next step which is DS230 and it takes 4-6 weeks for them to process it.

We are still not done yet but atleast we are near...
