In the "Place of Birth(Town or CIty)" blank, I listed the City he was born in.

In the "State/Country", I listed the State he was born in.

In the " Country of Citizenship", I listed the Country he was born in/has citizenship in.

The Venezuelan State I listed was "Portuguesa". When I received the NOA1, his birthplace was listed as Portugal.

I followed the direction on the NOA1 and called with the correct information. She gave me a confirmation number and said they would update it and then send me confirmation of having done so.

Should I expect an RFE for this?

If they want the country and not the state, why do they even list "state" above that box??

I would call them and correct it. My NOA1(?) says to call immediately and correct any errors. You definitely need to make sure the country is correct or it'll go to the U.S. embassy in Portugal (if it ever makes it that far.)

Does anyone else know if the form (I-797C) changed recently? Mine says nothing about the beneficiary's country of birth and now I'm wondering if the I-797C Notice of Action is really my NOA1.

N-400

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

June 2, 2016 - Interview - Recommended for Approval

As I said in my post, I did call. But thanks!

Mine says I-797C, Notice of Action in top right-hand corner.

Then is says further down "the I-129F has been received by our office for the following beneficiaries and is in process:"

Then lists Beneficiary, DOB, Country of birth

Sorry, I completely missed that!

In that case, I wouldn't expect an RFE based on that since it has been corrected. You should be fine. Just verify what the confirmation notice says.

And, it's strange... I hope the form changed in the last two months. Mine only says "Notice Type: Receipt Notice", Case # and lists our names - Petitioner: me and Beneficiary: her (and my address.) Nothing more other than Notice Date and Amount Received $.

Hmmm. Maybe mine was just different because of that error.
