hi there,

i hope someone can find patience to answer my question:

in form I-485 on the first page it has question: Current UCSIS status. What should I write? My visa expired couple days ago, and I am married to us citizen?

I am on an expired B-2, so my lawyer had me put in B-2 Out of Status.

Interview - approved! 07/29/10 need to send in completed I-693 (doctor missed answering a couple of questions) - sent back same day
Green card received 08/20/10

put down what type of visa you have and say that it is expired

it seems like we are in similar situation. which one did you check for Application Type in Part 2? I also came on B2 visa, which also expired... anyway, none of those types seem like fit my situation!??

If you are filing i-130 concurrently with the i-485, you would check A for part 2.

Because sending the i-130 along with your 485 is what they mean by "attach ....(blah blah) OR.... (more blah blah) visa petition that will give you immediately available visa number, if approved"

so, my I-130 would be the attachment they are requiring for "a" type?

why is it written in such complicated words...

Yes, if you have not already submitted it, you need to include the I-130 to qualify for answering a.

I know.. it was confusing for me too, it finally made sense after reading it slowly a few times :bonk:

luckily I also have a friend in our same situation (married to USC filing both forms together)

She got her Green card already last year and she let me see how she filled out all the forms ;)

and I guess I put "b-2 overstayed" in the same question "current immigration status" in form i-765?

I hope you guys are still on and be able to answer another question concerning I-765 form, question 16, where they ask for Eligibility Categories - I researched and came to conclusion that i fall under "C9" category, is that right? please help!!
