New K-3 visa fee increase

Hello visajourney members:

I have just read that the application fee for the K-3 visa is $350. The previous amount was $131. The embassy called my husband

and told him to bring his passport. I want to know, does he have to pay the balance of $219 or not? They did not tell him

him that he will be interviewed again, they just said for him to bring his passport. My husband and I are real confused about this.

Can anyone advise us about this. Thank you visa journey members. You guys are the best and most helpful people out there.

I think it depends on when/where the interview is. I have my interview in Vancouver and received a letter that because it is after June 4 (when they changed the fee) I have to pay the $219 USD difference in exact cash at the consulate on the day of the interview. If you've already paid the previous fee of $131, you bring your deposit slips and pay them the difference. You could fax or email them, or simply bring the extra cash just in case. Good luck

I am so sorry guys I am so ahead of myself. My husband's interview was on

December 331, 2009, not 2010. Sorry about the confusion. Thanks a lot.

So - he was in AP for some time then? OUCH !

But hei - being 'summoned with passport' is always a good sign. This is such great news, though - perhaps to celebrate, you'd consider to fill out yer official VJ timeline, over at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=79984 ?? Helps others coming up behind you, you betcha !!! Best way, to 'pay it forward' from all of the posts you've been reading at VJ, when you were learning about the process.

Specifically, it is a "visa APPLICATION fee". Since the actual "application" is handed over at the Consulate in a K3 case, and that's already done, there will be no need to pay the difference.
