WHAT IS THE CSC DOING OVER THERE?

We called USCIS two days ago, and they opened a Service Request. They said it may take up to 45 days.

I don't know if this is gonna be helpful. I doubt.

That does not make sense. At the bottom of my transfer notice (im not sure if all are the same) it said the reason for my case being transfered was to speed processing time up. Im still waiting though. I have heard pros and cons in regards to an info pass. I was considering making one, but the nearest office is too far away. At the moment Im hoping to be able to talk to an actual person at the CSC. So I can inquire about what is going on. best of luck to you! Thank you for sharing you experience

Hey folks... I am in the same boat as all of you. I was transfered to the CSC in mid-January and nothing so far.

So I gave the USCIS a call and this is what they told me:

For family-based AOS, they are not suppose to transfer your case. It should be done locally with an interview.

* I think this is a lie because of course there are many with transfered cases that already got GCs.

The normal processing time window for local field office Memphis is 4 months.

* Being transfered in mid-January and it now being July, we are outside the window of normal processing time.

* The guy started a reference case to investigate the status of our case and said we will be contacted within 45 days with something (which I think is too long).

* He said doing an InfoPass wasn't neccessary.

I just hope doing this doesn't screw up our GC process... especially if our case gets transfered back to Memphis when it was almost done.

We have everything BUT the GC.. they need to hurry up. The last touch on our case was 5/12 ironically the same day the "new" green cards came out.. ugggh

My touch was in March... I wasn't aware of new green cards coming out though...it could be one of the many possibilities as to why the cases that have been in processing longer are taking longer than the new cases that have been submitted... if that makes any sense at all?

I am calling on monday We have been transferred since " On February 18, 2010, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action"

wow! we're definately not too far off from each other at all. Csc received our case on Feb 24, and our touch was march 4. Im going to be calling again this week as well. Let me know how it goes for you! best of luck

I called and they put in inquiry because ( and their website is correct) our petition has not been looked at at all since March when we did biometrics and received ead and ap - their were no updates, notes, look at's nothing since then.

she did a inquiry as we are out of normal processing times (4 mos) - got a ref number - but is 45 days - but think she was amazed at the "nothing" done since march

How did you get to talk to an actual person? everytime I call I get this automated system. Its kind of frustraiting!

Well maybe if we all just keep hoping for the best, that our cases will go through soon... then eventually it's bound to happen Im just trying to remain positive. Maybe going to school will end up working out for you. Best of Luck!
