NOA1 processing time. How long?!

Hello everyone

I would like to know how long it takes to receive the first NOA. We submitted the papers on the final days of may and they received them on June 3rd. I found this link here that says the time line is from 2 to 3 weeks. We did receive a receipt advising the got the check and collected the money.

How long do we have to wait to receive the NOA1? My fiance is pretty confident and patient but im going crazy =P is it normal that is taking so long?

Two to three WEEKS???? Where did you read that? Someone must have been either joking or VERY optimistic. Two to three weeks is unrealistic. Right now, the USCIS processing time on the I-129F's averages at around 2-3 months, with the national reported average of 5 months. Your case will likely stay in the "Initial Review" status online until they either send an RFE or approve/deny it. My petition went in about the same time yours did, so I'm in the same boat, and just as impatient. If it helps, the way I'm passing the time is by combing the boards here (and a few other forums) to glean all the information I can and compiling documents to send to my fiance for his interview/checklist to help make that go more smoothly. NOA1 usually takes 7-14 days but can take upto 3-4 weeks.

You stated that you did receive a receipt that said they cashed your check. The receipt you get from them in the mail letting you know they received your papers and cashed your check is the NOA1. It should have your case number there on the paper too.

Vermont seems to be approving petitions in about 2 to 3 months, but it can take up to 5 or 6. Someone just posted they got theirs in only 25 days. You never know, but hope for yours being fast with no RFE. Good luck to you guys! :)
