This has been such a helpful community. I wanted to contribute something, so I am posting my fiancee's experiences regarding her medical in Moscow, Russia.

There are 2 clinics in Moscow that are approved by USCIS. Filatov clinic and IOM. She went to IOM b/c they offer the results the same day (if you come 8:30am to 12pm).

So she called (495) 797-8723, scheduled an apt. for 9am. She said it took her 20 minutes to find IOM near the westation "1905 street"; however, some people had no issues finding the place..

She filled out a simple form, stood in line for 30 minutes to have a very pleasant lady put her "packet" together. They give you instructions and a map of the place you need to go next (to get the physical done). The lady also said it's optional to get the vaccinations transcribed for a k-1 visa, so my fiancee decided to get her vaccinations transcribed by a civil surgeon in the US (Her reasoning was not having the copy of the medical and not wanting to prove someone later that her vaccinations were already transcribed. Maybe we're overanalyzing, but this has been an intense process). Then she paid $160 (you can pay both in dollars and roubles). Oh, and don't forget to bring 2 3x4cm photos. My fiancee brought standard US passport photos, and the IOM simply cut out the size they needed. Pretty friendly.

Then she did some subway traveling ("Biblioteka im. lenina") and the doctor's building was 3 min walk from the subway. She got lost again. The "Romanov Pereulok, 2" is on the right, right after you pass the library, and then she had issues finding the door because it was not marked. She gave the security guy her pass (given to her at the original stop), and went to the entrance #5, 2nd floor (they give you a print out with instructions). The lady took the huge envelope from my fiancee and told her where to go to get her blood taken, then where to go (another entrance) where to have the x-ray taken (get naked, they put stickers on the nipples, x-ray, ready to go, pretty straight forward, but you have to wait until the x-ray is printed). Then she went back to the entrance #5 and talked to the doctor. Get naked, let's examine everything, ask about the medical history, etc. Pretty standard, even though the examination itself took 15 minutes (the guy [doc] was pretty thorough). Then he said, come back to get your results after 4pm, everything looks good as long as your blood work is good.

My fiancee came at 5:30pm to get her results (envelope). Everything was fine. One step closer to the interview!

Actually, two steps closer, b/c she paid her DHL bill earlier that day.

It's too bad she did not get her vaccinations transcribed. That was a mistake.

Other than that all good info.

They said it was totally optional for K-1 visa holders. We will get it transcribed at a civil surgeon's in the US. Same cost, but we get to keep the transcribed records.

FYI they are supposed to give her a copy of the DS-3025 free, but some times it needs to be asked for. Perhaps you should be spending more time in the RUB section in the regional discussion here. "Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)"

A little advanced reading helps a great deal and saves money. I had my then fiance get this form and we submitted it with the AOS application for the green card and did not have to visit the civil surgeon here in the US. No cost. Local civil surgeons here wanted $250 to $400 to transcribe the vaccination record because they insisted on a new full medical.

This post would probably be better placed in the Russia, Ukraine and Belarus section.

Agreed, that's what we hoped for (to ask for the copy of DS=3025), but they said they are not allowed to give the copy of that form any longer. They used to, but now it's prohibited.

Hello all,

My fiancee just had her medical exam in Moscow on Dec. 16, 2013, figured I'd leave a few updates for any who are interested. Everything went just as jplusn described in the first post of this thread, it was very helpful thanks! Only changes were:

-No Filatov clinic, only IOM was available, fiancee scheduled med exam over the phone about a week earlier

-Only rubles were accepted as payment (they said as of October 2013)

-My fiance was scheduled for 10am, arrived at 9am, there were about 7 applications (several entire families) before her still waiting to go, after about a 1.5hr wait my fiance was able to get her envelope put together (about 20 minutes to get everything done after waiting), people seemed to be seen first come first serve, not based on appointment time

-Total fees were $205 for the exam, plus 2 additional new vaccinations ($21, $23 respectively), came out to ~8,000 rub, they didn't seem to have the flat rate fee for updating all your vaccinations, paid for each one individually

-Next, she was given directions and instructions, then sent to the doctor's office near the Lenin's Library subway stop for the physical, about a 30 minute trip

-Arrived at doctor's office around 11:40am, exam took a while, blood draw and chest x-ray, wait a bit to get the x-ray print out, took about 30 minutes, then a 1 hour wait before she could see a doctor (some problem with the system), maybe 20 minutes or so chatting with the doctor (female doctor, very polite), then she got a little paper, went to another doc to get vaccinations, then back to waiting and she was able to pick up her results the same day (~3:30pm she picked up her results, never left the office just waited)

-They gave her a sealed envelope for the consulate, we asked for another copy for AoS later and were given a handful of unsealed print outs

The maps from the sticky in the RUB forum were also very helpful. Good luck to all!

Hi guys,

After reading still unclear, in Russia they DO give the vaccination trasncript copy or DO NOT? Let me know as far as i am getting ready for this too, and taking into account our "soviet past" when people get greedy and do not cooperate unfortunately, would like to know if it is really possible to get Vaccination Records for AOS. One more issue, blood test is from vein or finger? (i know stupid question but any ways rofl.gif )

Nice posts, thanks to all! Hope guys from Ukraine will post about their experience in Kiev with medical exam.

Hi Loving_girl,

The medical center in Moscow CAN give you a copy of the documents from the sealed envelope, probably have to ask. The copies themselves do not come in a sealed envelope. There are a lot of documents, chest x-ray, vaccination, etc., but we're not sure if they give you copies of everything from the sealed envelope or just parts of it. And the blood test is taken from your vein. smile.png

If you're interviewing in Moscow, make sure to go to the 2nd floor of the embassy to windows 22 or 23 to register before you sit down. This is where you'll do your fingerprints and hand in some documents. Then you can sit and wait there until someone calls you. If you just sit and wait and don't register first, you'll be waiting for quite some time!

Thank you Ira and Lee, my interview is in Kiev, but as far as over here noone shares info as for what is going on in Ukraine, i found post about Russia, so at least i will be aware of what to expect as far as 'medical exams' should be pretty close same.
