how to know about my I-130 approval

how can i find my I-130 has been approved or not?my wife applied I-130 for me in last year after marrige.my wife got a mail from uscis that my status has been change and now i am in active processing.i have uscis account in that account they inform that they got my I-130 form in September 2009.after my wife became citizen in last month they send her a mail and inform that my status has been changed also they send her USCIS account number having 9-digits.does uscis send account number after I-130 approval?

some questions.........

how can i find my I-130 has been approved or not?

also,what will be the next steps from CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER?

also tell me the numbers of steps after status change?

On the USCIS website for your account number, it will tell you if you are approved or not. If it still says, "Initial Review" then you haven't been approved yet. USCIS will send you (if you signed up for these on the website) an e-mail that you are approved as well as a text message that you have been approved. If you didn't sign up for those, then USCIS will send you (they send this either way) a letter saying that your petition has been approved.

After you are approved, then your case gets sent to the National Visa Center (NVC). Here is a guide that explains the steps that happen after you are approved:

If you think that you might be approved already and that your case has been sent to the NVC, you can always call their number: 1-603-334-0700 and once you get to when they ask you for your USCIS case number, you put your WAC+numbers in (NOA1/I-797C receipt number). If you are in the NVC system, the automated voice will tell you when the NVC received your case. If your case isn't with NVC yet, it will tell you that they don't have any information for that case number.

-AVR says I have an RFE: 11/5/10

-NVC operator told me what my RFE's are: 11/8/10

-NVC sent checklist letter (for the 2 AOS RFE's): 11/13/10

-NVC operator says the IV package has been entered: 11/18/10

-E-mailed SUE to see if that would do anything (3 diff times...): 11/29/30/10

-Sent AOS RFE's: 12/1/10

-AOS RFE's received: 12/2/10

-Checked payment portal for fun (SIF!!!!): 12/3/10

-AVR still say AOS missing info: 12/3/10

-NVC operator says case was shipped to USE in Lima: 12/3/10

-Received interview date (12/13/10): JANUARY 6th, 2011!!

-Medical: 12/21/10- Passed :)

-Interivew: 1/6/11- PASSED :D

-Visa received- 1/13/11

-POE FLL- 1/23/11 YES! BUTTTTTTT....still not reunited :'( (Reunited on the 24th)

Oh, you could also call the USCIS number (1-800-375-5283) and they will tell you if your case has been approved or not.

You have stated that you already have an account with USCIS than you must have received an email from USCIS if your I-130 has been approved.

Ok now if you have opened an account with USCIS, but haven't selected to receive email or haven't provided your email address than you will probably never receive email. In this case you need to either edit this option. But meanwhile to cheak the status just enter your receipt no. to cheak case status.......

I'm trying to do the same thing but I'm one of the fortunate ones who can't view their case online...I did call over a month ago to the USCIS line and got a wonderful woman who helped me and said that the i 130 is in there system and was processed for approval...didn't say it was approved but did accept it and moved it to the next step ;( wish they would update that darn system and put everybody's numbers in!!!!! :bonk:
