Instead of considering more stimulus money or bogus programs that are not needed or the saving from what we are giving to Illegals; why dont we increase the man power for ICE and start making a new Law Enforcment group targeting this.

I am not sure but we could either create more offices in the states and man them or make the current ones bigger with more staff. (This is not were I would want to go because now government has gotten bigger)

I am thinking allowing the hiring of trained people to be stationed at either Sherrif Depts or State police. this would be less Man power tht needs to be hired and specifically trained.

I am sure there are better plans than not doing anything

There is a whole cash cow in fines if the government wanted to go after employers of illegals, but as Sofiyya said Obama is clearly for open borders.

It's a question of constitutionality and in this case, the U.S. Attorney General believes that SB1070 violates our U.S. Constitution. States can't create laws to undermine our Constitution.

The same US Attorney General who didn't even bother to read the law?

Well there are so many categories of visas out there and different forms of status that yes it is more complicated than tobacco laws. I wonder how they will be trained to handle a K1 holder for instance. Would they know that the NOA for AOS means they have status?

why would they need to be trained to handle K1 visas. the law is basically a "show your ID" law and if you can't show it and if other things suggest you are here illegally, AZ cops get ICE involved in much the same way border patrol or ICE themselves would handle a suspect.

ICE doesn't have a clue either. They rely on DHS to tell them whether or not a suspected alien has legal status, or not. The CBP are the ones that deal with documents on a daily basis. ICE relies on local law enforcement to notify them of suspected illegal activity, and the DHS uses ICE to enforce removal orders.

Which basically makes it sound like if your a K1 and your unlucky you'll end up in a holding cell for hours if not days while they try to figure out your status.............which has already been reported on this site with regards to the few checkpoints within the US border. Now imagine this happening statewide. Not a pretty picture I tell you.

What ID does a K1 have? A foreign driving license and a passport? Lots of illegals have those.

a K1 has a passport with an I-94. then they have a NOA acknowledging application for AOS. then they have an EAD, AP letter, and a 2 year GC. then they have a 10 year GC. illegals won't have more than a passport until they set up a market for making fake I-94 and NOA.

Oh, he's doing plenty wrong, including nothing to help Arizona with illegal immigration. I don't make ASSumptions about where people get their information, so I'll ask, what are you blinded by? CNN? NYT? PMSNBC?
