depends on your state of residence but most likely yes

Most likely. My wife presented her International DL, issued in the Philippines. WA did not honor it, only U.S. states and possessions.

It doesn't hurt to try, though.

Depends on the state but usually if it is not a US driver's license then a driving test as well as the written test is required. Driving laws and signs vary a great deal in other countries from the US,

Check the DMV website in NJ. They should have some instructions. You are most likely to take written and driving tests though.

I have an expired NV license (had been expired for 4 years), Japanese DL and international driving permit, but still had to start over the whole process (= written and driving tests).

Immigration Process (DCF Japan)

08/06/2008 I-130 petition at Tokyo, Japan

08/13/2008 I-130 approved

Yes most likely you will have to take the test all over again.

Even converting from one state to another (NH to MA), as a foreigner I had to do the test over :P

From what I know, if you are on a working visa, no need for behind the wheel test.

But if you are a green card holder, you are required to have the actual test.

Anyway, you can ask the officer at DMV if you are exempted from this test.
