Obviously you should only trust responses from people who have gone through India because each consulate is different, but have you ween the reviews for India?

You may find your answer within the reviews. My apologies if you have already looked over the reviews.

it is different at every consulate in India... which one are you at? My husband had his interview at the New Delhi consulate and I was able to attend the whole thing.... watched him get his fingerprints taken, answered most of the questions.... I was even sworn in with him during the interview

Hey thank you all for the response.

Darnell, thx sorry you right I should posted there.

Indy90 no I have not checked out the Indian Consulate Review but that's going be my next task to do.

AmitnMelody, I think it's Mumbai because when on my I130 as my first choice Embassy my lawyer put down as Mumbai. So, I assume it will be at Mumbai. It's good to hear that they let you go in at Delhi with your husband. I hope it's the same case at Mumbai too. I don't know yet if I am going to go or not but I want to know just incase if I needed to go. My wife lately been feeling very down and stuff and I just don't want us to be apart any longer than we have to be.

Again thx all yall

if you have the case # that was issued at NVC - you know which city it's in -

the first 3 letters of the case # are the Embassy/Consulate designator.

What you got ? reply back here, we'll tell you what city .

Which part of India is the beneficiary from?

If east/west India--then it's Bombay.

If a resident of north India -- then he/she will interview at Delhi.

If a resident of south India -- then you're up in Madras.

For Mumbai, no, the USC petitioner is not allowed inside the consulate during the interview. You can always go and provide some 'moral support.'

depending on the embassy - in Chennai, I was refused entry for my wife's interview. you need to email them and ask them permission (at least in chennai, that was the procedure).
