yes we Yorkshire men couldn't come up with something so inelegant

but at least it's nominally English in it's broadest sense

Yeadon would be better. It's a place name and 'don' means hill in the British/Welsh language pre roman

eg doncaster, wimbledon , rawdon, baildon, donnington, donny osmond, don ask - don tell

Be prepared to be freaked out by it. It is definitely a polarising taste!

OK - so we tried Marmite. I am fairly indifferent to it, and can take it or leave it. Vika loves the stuff, and we brought a small jar back with us . The couple we stayed with in Cambridge had a HUGE jar on hand. She eats it every morning - but its kryptonite for him. Also great local beers (Bishop's Finger was my fav).

We did see Cambridge and Ely, and found both charming. The cathedral at Ely was amazing, considering where and when it was built. We also did all the touristy stuff you all recommended in London. Big Bus tour, Tower, Westminster Abbey (biggest mortuary I have ever seen), Thames boat tour, walked five or six miles a day. The weather was awesome, between seventy five and eighty five every day and sunny. Good thing too, as the world cup results were so bad staying in would have been a waste of time
