DOES ANYONE KNOW IF IT'S NECESSARY TO HAVE A BANAMEX ACCOUNT IN ORDER TO PAY THE VISA FEE?????? THANSK

HELLO !!!

No you don't need to have a Banamex account. You just go to Banamex and request to pay the visa fee for the US Consulate. Has to be Bananmex in Juarez.

Time Line

01-30-2010 Sent I-129F via USPS certified.

02-01-2010 Received USPS confirmation.

02-08-2010 Received NOA1

03-12-2010 Case updated text alert.

03-12-2010 Checked Status online: Case approved! Weepaaa!!

03-15-2010 Received NOA2

04-02-2010 Received letter from NVC case sent to Juarez's Consulate

05-11-2010 Juarez US consulate received our case.

05-13-2010 Juarez US consulate sent K1 instructions packet to my fiance.

05-25-2010 Received instructions packet.

07-06-2010 Ciudad Juarez for the medical evaluation.

07-07-2010 Ciudad Juarez for the Visa Interview.APPROVE!!

Not at all , Kikis. As the poster above said, it's only required you pay the visa fee at Banamex in Ciudad Juarez. There's a branch in Las Misiones mall (right across the street from the Holiday Inn Express-las

Misiones)

Actually, it's not required that the fee be paid in Juarez, however because of the fee increase it's easier to do it there. The reason I say that is my fiancee went to a Banamex in Guadalara to pay the fee. (All the US govt accounts in Mex are with Banamex) They would only accept the old amount and she was told that she'd have to pay the rest in Juarez.

So for now, I don't think it is a technical requirement that the fee must be paid in Juarez, but a practical one. Maybe one day the rest of the branches will catch up but for now, plan on Juarez.

ALSO.....we were there on Tuesday. I paid in dollars and it cost $388. They used an exchange rate of 13, so if you can get pesos first, you might be better off.
