After you have filed your petitions and both petitions are at the NVC

Pay your Fee bills and complete your required paperwork and forms for both your spouse and stepchildren.

During the period right after you have obtained both Case numbers from the NVC make sure you call them and ask them to link the 2 cases so the paperwork moves along together...

Yesterday After talking to someone at the NVC about if there was anything i need to do to insure that my stepsons interview date would be the same as my wife's (BTW my Stepson is only 17 months old) They told me i just need to send and Email or a letter to the NVC and request that the 2 NVC cases be processed in a way that will set them up to have Interview on the same date.

This is one of those things I cant find any documentation anywhere

I didn't have to request an interview on the same date. Once they link them and you pay the AOS fee for the CR1 beneficiary it should automatically pick up CR2 as being eligible for further processing (you only paid the $70 on your wife's?). As long as the AOS and DS-230 packets are sent together you shouldn't have an issue with the interview dates.

I should add though that my daughter's P4 arrived about 4 hours before mine ... :bonk:

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

18/09/09 - CR1 NOA1

16/07/10 - POE LAX (256 days NOA1 to interview)

27/09/10 - Aussie/American bun in the oven due May 10, 2011

06/01/11 - Submitted change of address online to USCIS. Mailed I-865 for sponsor. Neverending!

05/05/11 - Bouncing baby boy arrives

10/07/12 - Sent I-751

13/07/12 - I-751 NOA1

I thought it was kind of odd too that they ask me to email them a request after i had already asked them to link and i verified that they were linked with a supervisor at the NVC.

Usually family cases are linked automatically. If yours weren't then the request was needed. Linking gets the cases processed together and interview dates the same but it also means you only pay one $70 fee instead of two.
