We have our AOS interview in two weeks, right in the middle of our family reunion trip to the beach/oil slick :( . I was planning to leave our daughter overnight at the beach with her cousins and my parents and siblings while my husband and I made the trip back to NOLA for the interview. But last night my husband told me he thinks she should come with us. I don't think this is necessary, but he thinks it is important. When I told my sister this, she agreed with my husband.

Would you? Did you? Will you?

AOS Timeline

4/14/10 - Packet received at Chicago Lockbox at 9:22 AM (Day 1)

4/24/10 - Received hardcopy NOAs (Day 10)

5/14/10 - Biometrics taken. (Day 31)

5/29/10 - Interview letter received 6/30 at 10:30 (Day 46)

6/30/10 - Interview: 10:30 (Day 77) APPROVED!!!

6/30/10 - EAD received in the mail

7/19/10 - GC in hand! (Day 96) .

How old is she?

I don't have any kids so I may have no room to say. ;) For me personally any distraction at the interview would have been too much. It was nerve wracking as it was and I wanted to give my full concentration. An older child who could sit quietly, maybe, but I can't imagine having a toddler in the interview room. :unsure:

I just don't think it is necessary. The birth certificate will be there to attest to her existence. I don't see how her presence will make a difference. And I agree, she could end up being an annoying distraction for a very nervous husband and a weary bureaucrat. Not to mention that it will mean a day's drive each way. That's two days she misses out with her cousins at the beach.

I think I'm going to have to put my foot down on this one.

It does depend on the child's age and ability to stay still and have self-control... do whats best

07/07/10 - Interview Appointment in Philly- July 7 @ 11:05 am APPROVED

07/19/10 - 2 YEAR Green Card received

Removal of Conditions (9 months 1 1/2 weeks or 285 days)

04/08/12 - Eligibility date

04/19/12 - Sent ROC Package

04/26/12 - Hardcopy NOAs Received

05/17/10 - Biometrics letter

05/24/12 - Successful Walk-in Biometrics in Dover DE

01/25/13 - APPROVED- ROC card production ordered

02/05/13 - 10 YEAR Green Card received

Naturalization (5 months 2 days or 155 days)

04/15/13 - Eligibility date

06/07/13 - Sent Package

06/20/13 - Hardcopy NOAs Received

06/27/12 - Successful Walk-in Biometrics in Dover DE

07/05/13 - Interview letter sent/In-line notification

08/14/13 - Interview scheduled in Philly @ 1:30 pm APPROVED

11/07/13 - Oath Ceremony
