"listed consulate" not shown on approved I-129F NOA2

The expected consulate was Bogota, Colombia. However, no consulate is entered on the I-797, Notice of Action I received as petitioner, notifying me June 7, 2010 that my I-129F petition was approved. Below where I expected to see it listed, reads: "The above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate."

I phoned USCIS at 800-375-5283 but had no success in discovering if this omission was harmless or what consulate it would eventually be sent to.

My plan is to wait until June 21, two weeks after USCIS forwards my case to NVC, then call NVC to attempt to discover whether they will indeed send to the Bogota consulate.

Have you heard of such a detail being omitted on the NOA2 approval of I-129F? What were the consequences, if any? Does my plan to address with NVC sound good, or do you have an alternate suggestion?

Thanks

1. This is the third report, if memory serves, this month, about no embassy name listed on NOA-2.

2. NVC will know all, later, so YES PLEASE - wait those 2 weeks, call in, get that NVC casefile number - it should reflect Bogota, you betcha !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I called the embassy in Bogota on 6/23rd (2 days after K-1 Fiancee Visa approved I-129F petition was sent to them from NVC). Bogota hadit electronically, but the physical package had not arrived yet. They gave me the BGT number. So, fortunately the ommission of the embassy entry of the Notice of Approval from USCIS wasn't fatal or cause for delay.

you could have called NVC, as well, and gotten the BGT casefile #, also some idea of when it left NVC.

I guess yer lucky - many embassies won't even pick up the telephone.

Yesterday, after my last post above, I received a snail mail letter from NVC with the BGT number (same, thankfully, as what the embassy gave me by phone).
