We submitted a I-864EZ with our I-485 packet. Now, on the interview notice it says to bring I-864 unless already submitted. Does it mean that we don't need to bring another affidavit of support since we already submitted it, or should we bring one anyway? We already got a letter from employer and IRS transcript for 2009 so I'm wondering if it would be safer to just bring another affidavit anyway.

Thank you in advance! :)

Well u were to make a copy of the entire packet for your own records and to take to the interview. Did you do that?

If not, then you could just type up another one... Dont sweat it.

Well... according to the I-864EZ instructions (right there on page 1 where it says "who can file this form"), it's ONLY for applicants who are filing an I-130... and your timeline says you filed AOS based on a K1. So if I were you, i would personally complete an I-864 and take it to the interview "just in case". Wouldn't want to be rejected down the line for submitting something you shouldn't have and not submitting something you SHOULD have.

Goodluck.

YOU filed based on an approved i-130 (K3) so your case is different. Also, :time:

Thanks for the replies :)

About the I-864EZ, when we did AOS we actually got the whole packet of forms for adjusting from K1 at the local USCIS office, and they had the EZ form included in both the packet itself and the general checklist, which is why we filed that one. Didn't get any RFE about it either.

Anyway, we'll fill the normal I-864 out and bring it to be safe then :)

I have a copy of my whole packet, but my understanding from the interview notice was that I need to bring copies of the included documents, not of the forms? Or do they actually want you to bring copies of the forms too? o_O

Well.. I personally have a folder that contains ever form ever filed from beginning to now so I'll be taking that. I have heard of people going to the interview (whether it be K1, AOS or other) and being told that can't find form X, or Y and then luckily the person had a copy with them. Others had to sit down and fill in the form and then continue their interview when finished.

So whether you bring copies of the forms is up to you, but if I get an interview, I will be.

As for the EZ, I find it very strange it was included. Maybe they've changed it's use but not its instructions? Or maybe your local office didn't know what they were talking about (wouldn't be the first time a secretary stuffed something up). Oh well. Can't hurt to take the I-864 anyway.

Oh, I do have copies of my forms too, I just didn't think they would be needed. I guess it can't hurt to bring them just in case, thank you for the explanation :)
