Good grief is it morning already? I feel like I just went to bed. This week is starting to kick my patoot. Come on weekend. It's a sad thing when you feel you have won a hard earned vacation to snag 30 minutes of down time in a whole day. Blah. lol

Guess I better get ready for work. I hope everyone out there has a day full of answered prayers...

Good morning everyone. Well, my son Kyle started school on Monday. The house is quiet again. He was ready to go back because he was so bored at home. Two weeks from today, Hachemi will fly to casa and begin his trip to the USA. The time is flying by. I am so ready for him to get here. Hope everyone has a good day.

I know you must be getting really excited, Meriem!

Things here are just same old, same old. Amed and I got in a little tiff last night over something completely dumb. We're both too hard-headed for our own good.

I hope everyone is having a great day and that we get some good news today!

DH and I are watching V for Vendetta a little each night, and thus far, it's an excellent excellent film

I'm continuing my arabic labeling. It's working well so far. I've failed at every language I've tried to learn before, and I think that's because in other subjects, I can absorb the information from the teacher and not study too much. Well, here I'm buckling down and actively seeking the knowledge, so inshaAllah it will work better this time.

I've labeled my husband "wasim"

10/14/05 - married AbuS in the US lovehusband.gif

Rahma,

What book(s) are your primarily using? Are you labeling in script or transliteration? Which dictionary do you prefer?

Mastering Arabic arrived but I don't have the cassette (I got it for about $3) - not that it would matter because I no longer own any cassette players.

My husband walks a little taller when I call him وسيم, lol.

Rahma,

What book(s) are your primarily using? Are you labeling in script or transliteration? Which dictionary do you prefer?

I'm using that first 100 words in arabic thing and my husband as my dictionary. If I stick with it, I'm going to invest in a Hans Wehr dictionary, but at this point, I just point to something and my husband will spell it out for me

I'm using arabic script right now. When I pass by one of my labels, I'll stop and sound the word out, reinforcing the letters as well as the word. I've got the words I put up 2 days ago pretty much down pat by now. I've also taken to only calling something labeled by it's arabic name. So, I'm going to sareer, or come sit on the kanaba.

I've just got the modern standard words up there now, although I'm thinking in a few more days, I'll add the Egyptian colloquial below, after I have the word memorized.

Mastering Arabic arrived but I don't have the cassette (I got it for about $3) - not that it would matter because I no longer own any cassette players.

I didn't have the cassette either, but only 1 or 2 activities per chapter require the cassette. I've asked my husband to make up listening activities for me based on each chapter.

My husband walks a little taller when I call him وسيم, lol.

Rebecca

 Although this book seems a bit cheeky, it has a lot of decent, slightly flirtacious phrases that are suitable for a husband and wife
