Hi All

Three weeks over and this is my fourth week in the U.S. and not yet received SSN & GC and also my Welcome Letter.

Here is my timeline:

07/14/08 - Got Married

10/10/09-Applied for I-130 & I-129f

02/06/10-Got I-130 approved

03/13/10-Case completed

04/13/10-Interview date received, 18th May,2010

05/05/10-Medical Test

05/18/10-Interview at Chennai consulate, Visa Approved

05/19/10-Received Visa Packets from VFS, Chennai

05/22/10-In flight, Chennai-JFK

05/23/10-POE, JFK-Took Oath

What should I do now? Please help me out

03/22/2010 - AVR updated - RFE response Received

03/30/2010 - SIF Done! - Case completed!

04/12/2010 - Interview Date Assigned

05/04/2010 - Medical Appointment

05/05/2010 - Medical Report received

05/18/2010 - Interview @ Chennai,India

It took my husband over 3 weeks from when card production was ordered on the AOS to receive his greencard. Once it hits 30 days you can call USCIS, correct?

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012

BABY GIRL BORN JULY 2011!!!

I haven't received my 'welcome letter' yet but I'm waiting on the SS card to be delivered this weekend.

USCIS told me to call them after 30 days have passed since POE and they will look into it but they can't do anything before 30 days are up.

03/27/2009: Engaged in Ithaca, New York.
08/17/2009: Wedding in Calcutta, India.
09/29/2009: I-130 NOA1
01/25/2010: I-130 NOA2
03/23/2010: Case completed.
05/12/2010: CR-1 interview at Mumbai, India.
05/20/2010: US Entry, Chicago.
03/01/2012: ROC NOA1.
03/26/2012: Biometrics completed.
12/07/2012: 10 year card production ordered.

09/25/2013: N-400 NOA1

10/16/2013: Biometrics completed

12/03/2013: Interview

12/20/2013: Oath ceremony

No need to sweat yet. My wife and I entered on May 31 and have just received the welcome letter today. Her SS card arrived last Thursday. I would give the good folks at USCIS the full 30 days before calling.

It's possible that some people might have entered POE too soon and all the paperworks are still making ways into their proper places.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.

I received my welcome letter 3 weeks after POE. Still waiting for the SSN number and the actual green card. My wife entered SF on 21st May and received the welcome letter on June 11th.

02-09-2007 : Marriage

I-130 Stage (Filed while I was on Green card)

California Service Center

06-11-2007 : I-130 Sent

08-04-2009 : I-130 Approved

NVC Stage

09-04-2009 : NVC Received

09-08-2009 : NVC case# assigned (Waiting game begins to Upgrade my case to IR-1)

01-22-2010 : Became U.S. citizen (Sent request to upgrade petition from F2A to IR-1 catagory)

02-17-2010 : Case finally upgraded to IR-1

03-20-2010 : Case complete

04-12-2010 : Receiced interview notice.

Chennai Consulate Stage

05-01-2010: Medical

05-04-2010: Interview Approved!!!!!!

05-21-2010: POE at San Francisco

06-21-2010: Received GC in mail

If you need to obtain a SSN ASAP, you can go to a local SSA office and apply for one.

You have to wait for some more time for the welcome notice and GC, though.

If you do not get them in three months after your POE, it is better to call USCIS or make an infopass appointment.

It seems strange, and unfair at times, that some people aren't getting their welcome letters while others have received them multiple times in the course of several weeks.

Redglasses, can you confirm whether the multiple welcome letters you received were basically the same letter sent multiple times? Is there a software error, or process glitch that is causing some people not to get their much-awaited welcoming?
