I met my fiance in October 2009 in New Jersey, while I was working as a consultant. I am a Canadian Citizen and working here on TN visa with I-94 that expires in August 2010. I got married to her in Jan 2010 and we have since, moved in together in Ohio. My interview is scheduled for June 18.

I have heard that sometimes applications get rejected if the date you obtained your TN visa is too close to the actual wedding since I got my visa in August 2009 and got married in January. Have any of you guys had such issues or have any suggestions on what I should do or say to avoid such issues. I have the package of what I need as far as documents go but no information about what they normally ask on an initial interview for I-485 application.

Also, does anyone know if I get my EAD at the interview or is there another step that needs to happen?

Thanks everyone.

I just got my EAD card but it says that you can't use it for reentry into U.S. I was hoping to go back to Canada with it. Any idea if this is a norm and if so, do I need an advanced parole?
