I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I was encouraged to go ahead and get this process started because I was told it could take anywhere from 6-12 months... and people are getting approval from USCIS four weeks after they're NOA1? Can I trade with somebody???

Don't freak. You still have to get the medical and police check, which apparently can take a while. And you can take your time, there's no law that says you have to rush to get your packet together after receiving your NOA2. I'm sure there is a time limit, but it is probably something like 4 months, so you have plenty of time. Good luck with it all!

Yours at least you should feel at ease! bec you know your check was cashed, one way or another you will get your NOA1. Unlike our situation, been week and a half-- our check is not yet cleared and we don' t know when they will do it and how long we should wait after clearing it. Haist! getting NOA1 will at least gives you an idea wether they're processing your papers already and will make you feel somewhat relax knowing they'r working on it.. than not getting any notice-- and keep guessing. true?

Have you tried to call them? a previous poster said she called them and she managed to get a case number. My baby hasnt called yet he keeps saying its going to happen just be patient we will get the notifications and it will be sooner then you think, I guess I am just a stress case and have no patients lol

We didn't call yet! I guess the wait is really stressful, and at the same time we need to be patient. haha! I guess I will have my baby call them early Tuesday if nothing comes by Monday! or better yet it I managed to be more patient wait a whole week to allow them to cash the check and send us a notice. I was just envious with the others that recieved their NOA1 2days after USCIS recieved their documents.. most of the timefram I checked for comparisons have a time difference of 3 to 4 days the most before recieving thier NOA1.. I would understand if this is NOA2-- it would really take longer after recieving the NOA1.. My prev application didn't take this long.. I was done 3mos exact.

Damien, it'll probably come within a few days. Did you see an EAC..... number on the back of the check image on your bank's website? Sometimes they'll put it there, sometimes they won't. They didn't on mine. You can probably call the Misinformation Line and ask for your case number. They were able to give me mine over the phone two days after they sent the check in (2 days before it hit my bank). Be prepared, they'll ask you if it's been 30 days since you sent it in (they have no way of knowing on the phone when you mailed it). And since you don't have the number yourself yet, they'll have to transfer you to someone in a higher dept to give it to you. I didn't spend long on hold at all though, so you should be able to get it pretty quick.

Damien just called the service centre and they dont have us on the computer system. We sent it on the 19th and the cheque was cashed on the 22th how can we not be on the computer system and they have taken our money.

I guess you could just do the same thing with me-- let's give it until next week then if so we should try another call? yeah?

I remember before, we get email notifications when-- we signed up in the USCIS website for our case update, when they do some updates, they will send us the same copy on that website and on our email...that's the link. but then again in order for you to sign up you need to have your EAC#.

Incorrect, you just have to sign up at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/termsconditions.jsp?contextType=CU_EN once you get the case # from your NOA1.

Dodi, Melgar, and you others who have recieved a quick NOA2, I have a question. Did your NOA1, in the bottom left corner, have the Texas address on it, or did it say Vermont? Mine says Vermont, and I'm wondering if even though my check was cashed in Tx, if they might have forwarded it back to Vermont...

Mine says Vermont. I think the banking info comes from Texas, because that is where the headquarters for the bank is located. It was still processed in Vermont.

mailed off my package about a week ago. I'm obsessively checking my bank account/email/snail mail for any sign of activity. it's driving me crazy with the waiting, and I know it's only gonna get worse from here (lol... I posted in the wrong topic first. will teach me to not jump the gun and read the *whole* topic name first!)
