Pictures as evidence with engagement ring visible

I'm probably worrying about nothing, but a few recent topics here have me slightly worried, and I just thought I'd run it past a few of you to see if I'm really just being paranoid or if it's actually something to be concerned about.

Going over my packet of things to get copies of and send out tomorrow, I looked at the 5 pictures I selected to send with my packet. We picked out one in particular because it clearly shows the engagement ring I am wearing on my left ring finger. We thought it would be good proof to show we're truely engaged, not just friends or whatever the other case may be.

However, I have read several topics where people mention you don't want to give the person reviewing your case the wrong idea in case they will think you already got married.

Should I omit the pic where my ring is visible, or am I overcomplicating things? I have others I can put in from this time (Including one of us kissing but I'm really shy about that and it almost feels like I'd be 'trying too hard' to prove my case with that one, so I chose to leave it out previously) if I have to. If I have to replace it, should I include kissing pic  or just yet another one of us smiling together?

If it makes a difference, neither of us are dressed up or anything it in so it doesn't look like a wedding. He's wearing a green tshirt and me a black sweater and cat ears, and we both look quite sad in it (he was leaving for the airport).

Ok, breathe. You are overthinking this. It's perfectly reasonable to be wearing an engagement ring. You're engaged, for crying out loud.

Get that packet in the mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Sorry I have to laugh a little here. I think you told me earlier that you have plenty of evidence for having met in person so dont worry about the pictures. Showing an engagement ring in a picture is not going to determine whether you get approved or have problems.

worry about the important stuff. Did you fill out all the forms completely and accurately? Did you include all the required documentation? Did you write a good answer that you can substantiate with hard evidence that you and your fiancee have met in person in the last two years?

You are having last minute jitters and it is perfectly normal. Wait till the night before you are married, talk about jitters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Include a few photos ( I sent 8) that show you both together. Worry more that those photos and the other evidence paint a picture to the case worker that makes sense and shows that you have met and that you have a valid relationship (okay for the critics, the only thing you have to prove is having met, that you both are free to marry, the petitioner is a USC, and that you have expressed intent to marry within 90 days of foriegn national entering US, again bear with me here), by painting a good picture of relationship with evidence that backs up your answer to question 18, you should be fine.

Again worry more about filling out the forms right and getting the right documents included.

I'm just really paranoid by nature. I was just worried because it's part of a wedding band set, so I was thinking it could be mistaken as a wedding band, and on and on. So yes. Overthinking it. Exactly.

Yeah, I've gone over them about 10 times every night just in case, and I'm sure I'll go over them about 100 times more before I get the nerve to pop it in the mail

I think you might just need a little of my tequila - normally I don't like to share with anyone who hasn't been waiting since MARCH for an approval, but I'll make an exception for your wicked case of nerves!

I just purchased an engagement ring which I DHL to my fiancee along with the receipt to show at her interview. This is a sign of your committment to your fiance(e) and helps to show further evidence of your continuing relationship.

Good Luck :yes::thumbs:

I practically had to take a Valium before I could separate myself from all of the blood, sweat, and tears that went into that petition. You spend WEEKS living it and then have to let it go... it's like it takes on a life of it's own!!

Do what dwar suggested... make sure all of your answers are complete... no blank boxes... all four pages of the G-325A - one for each of you - signed as original copies...

Take a deep breath and let the US Postal Service take it over. Spend the money and sent it requesting delivery confirmation... it'll be a small source of comfort when it takes a month for you to get your NOA1...

Hope it's sooner than that though! By the time you're ready to part with it, they might be all caught up.

** wishful thinking at work for those who are awaiting word... **

Best wishes!!

You've got enough evidence to play around with. If you have a doubt, switch it out for another photo, or just don't send a photo of that trip. If you think it's gonna haunt you after you send it, then just don't include it if it isn't necessary. ;)

I also have a kissing photo that I'm shy about sending... it doesn't really prove anything anyway, people kiss people without meaning it all the time nowadays, we coulda been drunk and not known each other and that's why we kissed lol.

I think you're all set!

We included a picture of us from Halloween - Paul as Dr. Gonzo from Fear and Loathing in Las vegas and me as an airline stewardess, cap and all and when Paul went to the interview the very serious guy behind the counter asked, "Is this halloween?" Poor Paul had to stop himself from laughing at the guy...I don't know if he thought we dressed like that in general or if we were trying to pull a Green Card moment on him...

I wouldn't worry, an engagement ring is a good thing. It's not necessary to have one when you file, but it doesn't hurt. We sent the engagement ring receipt and Paul took my wedding dress receipt as further evidence and we were just fine.

GOOD LUCK! :star::star:

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

Ok. My fiancee didnt want an engagement ring. Instead she chose for us to get our wedding bands. She is wearing that as am I. Long story, but the short of it is, dont be worried about that. One place I read said sending a copy of the receipt of the engagement ring is something you can include as supportive evidence of relationships. I included our wedding band receipt.

At this point in time, all the USCIS really want to see is that you meet the 2 year requirement. So it's not really something worth knocking yourself out for. We only sent three pictures and one of those was a polaroid, while we figured there was no way to date that photo, it at least proved we'd met in person at some point (it was taken that year when we were in Paris).

Ha Ha Ha Ha! A picture with a ring on her hands and you are worried! Go rent 'Monsoon Wedding' and you will understand which pictures not to use - In India even I can't tell which picture is from an engagement or a wedding - that's why you do not want to send any elaborate pictures e.g. from a big ceremony in a church etc. Entiende? Good Luck
