My fiance is in the US petitioning for me to come over on a K1 visa to marry him. He has now recieved his NOA2 and we have been told it has been approved and were waiting to recieve packet 3 however just recently he has become unemployed. Can he still be the primary sponser and rely heavily on a co-sponser to reach the approved level of income or, because of his unemployed status, would he not qualify to be a sponser? I cant seem to find any information anywhere regarding unemployment and the affidavit. Any help would be much appreciated! Thankyou

#1 you can actually go look for the link for package 3 that you can download the forms and mail them in. You can find that on this website and then go to the us embassy/england and go download them from there.

#2 you need a co-sponsor that is a us-citizen if he has no money and you better tell him to go find a job and fast. lol.

Thats about it. co-sponsor yes, download packet 3 without waiting. Get busy. :-)

The requirements for a co-sponsor can vary from one consulate to another with K visas. However, at most consulates, a co-sponsor can be a US citizen OR legal permanent resident, and they must be domiciled in the US.

Athenakomodo, your fiance will be the primary sponsor regardless of whether he has enough income to qualify. If he hasn't found another job by the time you go to the interview then you will need a co-sponsor who has enough income and/or assets to qualify.
