That's a false argument. He didn't get into Harvard illegally. He applied like anyone else. To blanket everything the student has done since growing up and living here as a resident in America as 'illegal' is just bizarre.

I never said that.

My point was that his being there deprived someone who was not in this country illegally the opportunity to study at Harvard. Now that is unfair.

There is nothing bizarre about blanketing his whole existance here as illegal, because that's what he is - illegally in the country, as he has been his whole life. He is not supposed to be here, period. His family is not supposed to be here, period. What's bizarre is that you expect others here to "pretend" as you do that none of that matters and that we should just forget the unintended consequences of do-gooders who want illegals to stay, but obviously aren't directly affected negatively by their presense. Good for you, but I'm more inclined to look out for the law-abiding rather than the law-breakers.

Really, does anyone else here realize that all of us are just bystanders? Well, with the exception of Booyah! He has pledged to head down to the border and defend it if need be. No matter how much you hate or advocate a subject, your effect is, well, ZERO!!! If anything, all this GTFO, fire and pitchforks stuff shows how hateful people can be. It could be a Chinese, Brazilian, Japanese... whatever, I'd still be exposing my view

Let's say a USC or LPR that posts such ####### brings her wife/hubby to America. What will happen IF hubby or wifey need to bring one of her relatives to America, but it has to be done illegally because of lack of money, paperwork, or God know what else. Do you show integrity by turning your back on your spouse? Or, do you think no one will notice if you act like a hypocrite and give that person an illegal free pass?

I own land on the border, so I'm not just a bystander. I also have a relative visiting here who spent a long night trying to convince me to allow her to take an under the table job while here on a B2 visa on my dime and sponsership. I will not allow it. There is nothng hateful about it, unless you're a gutless enabler, unable to show some backbone and not give in to a slippery slope of law breaking.

Have you any direct impact, as far as applying, changing laws? If so, please GTFO (as warmly used by others) and go back to work, because you have a whole crowd of angry people here ready to go nuts.

Good thing that you didn't sir/ma'am, you show great integrity. I can respect that.

Maybe next time you'll be able to articulate... As much as I like pictionary, I'd rather read actual words.

I work at a policy think tank that works to change laws all over the world, so, yes, I am directly impacted and on the j.o.b. every day impacting.

If the kid was so smart then why couldn't he figure out a way to do things legally? Oh thats right his criminal parents raised him up to have the idea what they did was OK. It even said in the article that he knew he was illegal but went ahead and registered to Harvard and bumped another more deserving student off and cared nothing that he did so.

He may not know his own legal country that he belongs to but he is supposed to be smart enough to learn it quickly as he is going to have to and I am sure he knows Spanish and if not he should be able to quickly. The only thing that really pissed me off was that they released him on a warrant so he can show up. He should have been detained in a cell somewhere until his trial and deportation. No where in the article does it interview the parents and ask them was it worth it.

The best part is it will show all the many other criminals that they can't just get a sob story and bypass everyone else. All this money wasted on these criminals kids could have been used for real citizens. If Harvard is harboring illegals then they should have ICE do a raid and capture any and all criminals there.

At least maybe the criminal knows enough to meet a babe and get married and then when he is back they can go through the same legal process that all of us has had to jump through.

I have articulated throughout this thread and kept very much on-topic. You, on the other hand, introduce a red herring to distract from the topic at hand. I try to introduce levity at times during serious threads when people appear to be losing patience and starting to get adversarial.

As for telling people their effect is zero, you know nothing about most of us, so hold your judgement. And free speech is a part of the constitution of this great land, so please stop trying to end debate when the other side of the argument is getting the most screen time.

It never has to be done illegally. Your argument fails on this. There are laws and rules within these borders and laws and rules to come into be within these borders. If you cannot obey the laws upon entering, then what says you'll obey the laws once you're here.

When there's a will there's a way. Patience is a virtue. Wait, get an extra part-time job to pay for the relatives if it's that important. Illegal immigration is NEVER an option.

Well, unless you are:

a)A politician

b)Organizing a protest

c)A member of an established organization, focused on taking actions like Sofiyya

The only thing that comes out of this is a collective rant, that will not move on past this thread/forum. Express all you want, after all, you are right when you say the Constitution encourages and defends freedom of speech. A rant is a rant no matter if it is free or oppressed, then again I may be wrong, it may have some effect, but it never leaves the forum on more than 95% of the time perhaps. Sort of a little group therapy session.

Note I am not judging, just pointing out the obvious. You may think you are crusading in favor of your views, but it's nothing more than a rant in reality.

I may introduce red herrings, but God, you act like you were slapped with a bluefin tuna.

Rant away, sir.

I was talking hypothetically, but I understand your point. You never know what surprise may come up, that's why I painted that scenario. For the record, I would not break the law either.

Well, breaking the law is always an option. You just have to be aware of the consequences for doing do.

Main reason why I do no support illegal immigration.
