I'm pretty sure no one who's never played the game will understand his actions. I have, so I do.

It was NOT cheating, and it was NOT against FIFA's Fair Play either. ANY player from ANY team would've done the same. Last minute of the game, you are about to get a goal, so yes, a red card and a penalty is a way to give your team another chance.

I'm sorry that America(ns) is pretty much retarded when it comes to soccer. FIFA "considered" banning him to please the crowd. Everything he did was done to the letter of the soccer rules, which call for a penalty and a green card for a hand ball inside the box. If he were suspended for more than one game it would set an unheard precedent. You get suspended for more than 1 game following a red card in certain cases, but not in this one.

Also, if you watch it again, it wasn't just Suarez who was trying to knock the ball out with his hand there. It's just the other guy didn't get to it first.

Once again. It's hard to explain to mentally hillarious people the rules of the game, so enjoy listening to the banter on TV.

Oh and I can't wait till tonight's game. There's just no way in hell Germans should play in the final.

Retarded Americans? Well, why don't you and your loved one just immigrate to the Ukraine instead since we are clearly too retarded here. :bonk:

The issue with Uruguay's handball entry into the semis comes down to sportsmanship. Players are expected to play within the rules of the game (e.g. NOT using your hands when you aren't a keeper). People STILL talk about Maradona's handball from so many years ago. Such actions are no better than falling to the ground, pretending to be hurt when you're not to force a foul or yellow card.

Ghana was denied (and for all of Africa) their rightful place in the semi-finals as a result.

Also, don't rule out the Germans. Our loss against Serbia came from us down a man in a match plagued with erroneous yellow cards (on both sides) until half time. It should be a good match today vs Spain. But I believe we'll get our 4th star this year.

Prepare yourself for a disappointment. No team - other than Germany ('72/'74) - has ever clinched both the European Chamionship and the World Cup.

1. Learn your history please.

- 1998 & 2000 France.

For Spain, this is the first ever World Cup Semi Final. With today's match, Germany counts a dozen such appearances.

And how many of today's German players have played in semi-finals of WC before? Yeah, exactly. This is a young team.

Germany never lost twice in a row in the semi final.
No country that lost it's first match has ever fetched the World Cup

By the logic of statistics - a European team has never won a WC when it was held outside of Europe, but guess what, it's about to happen.

Statistics and such is out of the window in this tournament.

So really, there's no actual reason why Spain should even play tonight. Other than Germany needing to warm up for the final. ;)

I'm actually pretty sure it will be an ugly game with a red card or two. I'm amazed Germany has been able to go the whole tournament without permanently crippling a player or ten. I must say, I'm even glad somewhat that these new kids don't play typical "German" football.

In any case, it's 3-1. Villa, Xavi, Piquet - some stupid penalty.

Слава Україні!

1. Oh no, I like it here, and I've been liking it for a very long time here too, I'm a stay, so yeah, NO. Most of Americans are still retarded, and I stand by my statement.

2. It was NOT a bad sportsmanship, **, how don't you get it? He DID play within the rules. Rules state - handball in a box is a red card and a penalty. That's what was awarded. If Ghana had scored, everyone would stfu, but noooooooo.

Maradona SCORED a goal with his hand, it's quite different. He should've gotten a yellow card and the goal shouldn't have counted, but who cares, because in the case of Suarez HE DID GET A CARD and Ghana had a chance to win it with a penalty. Their own damn fault they couldn't convert it.

3. And I was denied a right to 1 million dollar jackpot by a fvcking stupid #### slot machine in AC, goddamit!!!

Really, that's the same logic.

The letter of the soccer rules were followed. Only teams who can legitimately b!tch are England (Lampard's shot did go in) and Mexico (Tevez was waaaaaaaaay offside scoring his first goal.... Just like Van Persie could've been easily ruled offside yesterday on Snejder's goal).

4. I don't think it's going to be a good game. We will see about 60/40 possession by Spain, if not more and see Germany try to counter-attack (like they pretty much did with Argentina). Except Spain's defense is quite superior to non-existent Argentinian one. I also expect a couple of red cards. I don't know... 2 more hours and we'll see.

Слава Україні!

Haters will be hating - Germany will win - Spain has nothing against us - Go Schlaaand :)

We may have a very young team but that just makes it so much stronger. The only real thread we were facing this WC was Ghana. I tip my hat to those guys!

I've taken two days vacation to watch the semi's.

Despite the silly Paul the octopus, my eyeballs say Germany will win.

This year's German team is so beautiful to watch-sportsmanship, team spirit, tactics, skills, energy, you name it. It is such an inspiring team.

GO GERMANY!

France clinched the European Championship in 2000 after clinching the World Cup in 1998. What I said was that - other than Germany ('72/'74) - no European Champion ever went on to win the World Cup. Should have stated it more clearly perhaps. That reamins true.

The fact that Germany has such a young team to make it to the Semifinals (and most likely the final match) is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge! I can't even imagine how strong they'll be in 4 years. They'll definitely be the team to watch out for.

Good luck Germany, hope you crush those Spaniards to the ground today.

If you had phrased it that way, yes, you would be correct. However, this is how you wrote it up originally:

Prepare yourself for a disappointment. No team - other than Germany ('72/'74) - has ever clinched both the European Chamionship and the World Cup.

A little ambigious, compared to your statement in the latest post.

In any case - semantics, doesn't matter.
