I'm just happy Italia, Brasil, and Argentina are gone. This is obviously Europe's year. Hopefully Germany again. Though I wouldn't be sad if Spain got it.

I loved Uruguay in this World Cup.

Forlan gets his "swan's song". One of the greatest footballers of the past decade that went unnoticed and unappreciated.

It would've been a completely different game if Suarez had been playing, but so is life, he had to do what he did so that the team even gets to play in semi-finals.

I'm really routing for Uruguay to grab a 3rd place.

Слава Україні!

Are you serious? That was the single worst action by any player this WC. Uruguay has been playing a rather ugly game - the excellence of Diego Forlan aside. They couldn't have reached the semis with fair play so they cheated their way in. That's not exactly something to celebrate. Suarez earns a place in the World Cup Hall of Shame. Good thing that FIFA is considering banning him for the remainder of the World Cup. I sure hope they lose when they play for third place against Spain on Saturday.

I'm pretty sure no one who's never played the game will understand his actions. I have, so I do.

It was NOT cheating, and it was NOT against FIFA's Fair Play either. ANY player from ANY team would've done the same. Last minute of the game, you are about to get a goal, so yes, a red card and a penalty is a way to give your team another chance.

I'm sorry that America(ns) is pretty much retarded when it comes to soccer. FIFA "considered" banning him to please the crowd. Everything he did was done to the letter of the soccer rules, which call for a penalty and a green card for a hand ball inside the box. If he were suspended for more than one game it would set an unheard precedent. You get suspended for more than 1 game following a red card in certain cases, but not in this one.

Also, if you watch it again, it wasn't just Suarez who was trying to knock the ball out with his hand there. It's just the other guy didn't get to it first.

Once again. It's hard to explain to mentally hillarious people the rules of the game, so enjoy listening to the banter on TV.

Oh and I can't wait till tonight's game. There's just no way in hell Germans should play in the final.

Enjoy the game today!

Okay, expert. Green cards, eh? You know them rules for sure.

Prepare yourself for a disappointment. No team - other than Germany ('72/'74) - has ever clinched both the European Chamionship and the World Cup. The best Spain ever did in a World Cup was tie Germany 1:1 (1994). The other two World Cup encounters, they lost. We'll add to that list today. For Spain, this is the first ever World Cup Semi Final. With today's match, Germany counts a dozen such appearances. Germany never lost twice in a row in the semi final. We did lose the semi final in 2006. It's our time to win again. No country that lost it's first match has ever fetched the World Cup. Spain lost it's opening match to Switzerland. Durban is the place where we annihilated Australia 4:0 while it is also the place where Spain lost to Switzerland. It's our place. Then remember that July 7 is the day when Germany won it's second World Cup title in 1974 - lucky day, you know? And then there's Joachim Löws blue four goal sweater which he is sure to wear tonight.

So really, there's no actual reason why Spain should even play tonight. Other than Germany needing to warm up for the final. ;)
